527And recite to them with truth the news (Naba'a) of two sons of Adam. When they both approached / accessed (Qarraba) a nearness / means of closeness to the God (Qurbanan), so then it was accepted from one of them (dual), and accepts not from the other. Said he (the other) 'surely I murder you'. Said he (accepted one) 'verily the God accepts from the one who attained the conciousness.'

Here the word Qurban is never meant as a sacrifice of any animal but word Qurbanan means as it is translated above.. Allah never accepts nearing to Allah by means of falls approach but He only accepts while being concious about Allah with truth.. Adam's sons never sacrificed any beast to Allah or fed poor people.. It was just the thought of those who translated... In my understanding there is no sacrifice in Quran where word Qurbanan or Qarraba appear.. All means of getting close to God.. Even the verse 3183... No sacrifice at all..

Thank you... May Allah guide His believers..

Those who said 'Indeed the God took a covenant over / from us that not for us to believe towards a Messenger until he (Messenger) brings to us with a way of nearness / approaching (Qurbanan) that devours / disposes of the Evil (Naar). Say! 'Surely came to you Messengers before of me with clear manifestations / proofs as well with what you spoke. So why you murdered them if you are speakers of truth.

        Salam...

For some, it seems like they are confused about word Taghut in Quran.. I am not gonna translate all Taghut verses here.. But let me explain what this taghut is so you can apply to all verses.. Mostly it is translated as false idols, deities or even left it as Taghut as if it is only something existed in Arabia...

Taghut is something against the Word (Alqawl) of Allah.. In another way if explain a system instituted and existed against or totally contrary to the system (Dheen/Islam) of Allah.. They have legislation to follow under a system in the form of a religion wherewith they take their law in life but against God's pure basic law.. I hope you got me.. For example if in God's system eating pork or blood is forbidden in contrast to that in such System(Taghut) it allows you to do... This is taghut.. A system which is path of satan...it exists everywhere wherever God's Messengers were sent.. That confirms verse 1636 .. So Taghut is not particularly a deity or god etc but it is a satanic system practiced by people and in it gods and deities definitely exists as firm of worship.. But taghut itself is not gods... So whoever follows such path is indeed transgressing God's System... In a nutshell if you compare other satanic religions and their practices with Quran's system you will perceive what Taghut is... If I directly translate.. It will be like "falsely legislated System / Satanic or Satan influenced religion"

        Thank you..

Is there any verse in the Quran which cannot be grasped if God has guided him or her truly? In my understanding No.. Every verse of Quran is within the reach of every guided believer if his or her intention is guidance purely.. . So what in fact 37 is speaking about... So are there indeed verses we should classify that no one can understand them? No... If anyone says Yes! there are verses that should be classified that no one can understand except Allah then what are those verses and who will classify them and why? In that case also a loads of discrepancy in opinions will creep up.. But what I realized of late is, there is no such verses that are allegorical unless clearly stated with allegory in Quran while some other are very manifest .. I don't agree. In that case basic verses of siyam haj salah zaka etc are not at all clear for many who keep arguing for ages about it.. Coz guidance cannot vary.. I mean.. One fast skip food and drink 30 days in contrast to that one meditates etc cannot be guidance of God with the same verse... Coz one verse many interpretations is sheer crap..
If then, what exactly the verse 37 is meant by Allah? Yes.. Let's translate the verse first of all as meant by God. Coz complete Quran is fully detailed but only who are guided truly plus knowledgeable ones will understand them all, Allah wills .. People may raise voices in their ignorance but God knows who is guided aright with His verses.. There is no space for those who are guided aright for loopholes or ambiguity with certain verses so that get misguided literally .. Guided means guided to the truth and no other option.. So who will have ambiguity in Quran verses is in fact who has not yet reached to that point though thinks he so.. Intention plays a huge role here. . If the intention is Temptation (fitna) while looking at verses of Allah then they are not guided even how much they believe in God.. They are just curious with temptation /fitna and they alter rebelling with such verses..
Here is the translation of the verse 37

He (the God) is who has sent down to you the Book (kitab), of it verses self explanatory / self sufficient / comprehensible (Muhkamat), they are basic principles of the law (kitab), and the other (verses) dependent / equivocal (Mutashabihath). So as for those in whose hearts deviation follow what was reliant / equivocal of it, seeking the temptation (fitna) and desiring its result / fulfilment (thahweel). And not knows the result / fulfilment (tahweelaHu) of it except the God and those the well grounded in the knowledge. They say 'We believe in it, all from of our Lord'. No one receives admonition except men of comprehension.

Here.. 'Allah and those who are well founded in knowledge knows it' is a huge statement by God.. God only knows who those well grounded in knowledge who knows the verses of Mutashabihath. .. No argument about it and there are believers on this earth with such capacity... Just simply coz their immaculate intention which is guidance and not for boasting or temptation (fitna) ...

After all these Mutashabihath verses are just verses of Quran but need to study with thorough comparisons and much application of comprehension and that's why they are not muhkamat verses... Never these verses can be taken by reading only that verse/s itself but need loads of comparison and explorations and then judge... Well.. once judged God knows they have chosen the right path or not .. People may raise voice.against it but in vain coz they do only with temptation (fitna)..

Note well.. Results of digging deep with Mutashabihath verses are two .....

          1. failure . coz intention is seeking temptation in those verses...

          2. Success.. coz intention is immaculate and well grounded in knowledge... Plus guided..

So in a nutshell... Guidance is never a guidance if gone against what Allah has revealed in the book though reading the same book. So ultimately it is between Allah and that believer.. Three options for the same verse cannot ever be guidance for three different people even though how much difference of opinion is welcomed / entertained in society... But not with Allah.. True guidance has no option save truth...

And if it was difficult / strenuous on you (singular) their aversion / turning away, then if you were able in order that to seek pretention (nafqan) in the land or (seek) belonging / affinity (sullama) towards the highness / superiority (Sama) so that to bring for them a sign / portent / prophecy (Aaya). And if the God had willed He would have brought them together over to the guidance. So be not one of those ignorants.

All translations honestly made me sick and gave me no sense.. Ladder and tunnels.. Oh nonsensical..

This verse manifestly giving a command to the prophet as well anyone who faces a situation where you love some people take the guidance, since you for whatever reason attached to them . So this attachment at the same time their turning away from guidance makes one feel unbearable / difficult thus feeling to even pretend or feeling to bring a sign in order they take the guidance. Well.. No use. .just don't be ignorant. No need to go after them.. Just pass the message and let them reflect and if they turn away then it is no worthy worrying about them even they are your loved ones children parents wives sibling friends etc. Just move on ..

I think some of the verses you quote are horribly translated. Unfortunately a bit of work seems to remain on translations. However one gets the main idea from many, do not have partners to Ein.

Also, the translations are biased by biblical import of concepts and names. And should rather retain the arabic names, and also drop "god" as he has a son in The Bible, and rather use Ein, which works like it should in latin alphabet, and reflects The Quranic teaching there.

              Peace.

              Peace..

Hope you keep doing well.. Good to see new members ...

Arabic is a language so does English... One word can have many meaning as you are aware in any language, but one word has ONE meaning in one verse. So I am happy to use God as it gives the meaning which I am familiar about God's attribute..

Yes.. Christians or others may call God and at the back of their mind the God might have son.. It doesn't matter for me.. It's their choice.. God is One as per Quran.. So I have no issue about dictionary meanings that could be derived for word 'God'....
Role of any language is to communicate and pass the message and nothing else.. So arabic word Allah is used ideally fitting to the language... For example King Solaiman wrote a letter to a Queen stating "Bism Allah Arrahman Arraheem' .. So language is of many nature but same message can be passed in any language... Literally Sulaiman didn't write the letter in arabic but it is what he wrote. So we don't know what Sulaiman wrote in words in which language... Similarly Mary said fear Arrahman.. We don't know Mary indeed said Arrahman or the word equivalent to it in her language . So languages are from the God and the God may have many names according to languages but they all may be same in any language according to above examples..
So brother / sister.. I have no issue using the God in English language to arabic word Allah..

Thank you.. Keep up good works in the forum. Let your presence be beneficial to those who seek knowledge..

You shouldn´t really use "God". It is a regression of Ea, which when The Deity is mislatinized (imported from other scripts and written Ea for instance) it may seem symbolically as The Deity has a son. "God" continues this. You should strongly consider this, and "God" is not in any revealed scripture, but was placed there after the trinity was concieved, and originally is from the mesopotamian Gudea idol. The Bible in places instead probably used Dyeus, which was a triangular symbol with dot inside, and Adams original Deity. However that is also a mislatinization and import from other script. The Qurans initials are probably about things like latinization, and for latin we get Ein.

I hope you understand. To someone with knowledge like me, it is a horrible things to use "God".

                Peace.

It's Okay if you don't want to use God. As long as you believe in Him who created you and in whatever names you call Him He won't bother as long as you call Him and not others and not equal others with Him..

English is a language and propel do live with that language as mother tongue and they have word for the one who created you to call in a simple way which is the God. It won't be Issie at all... Before arabic was formed people were calling your Creator with what their language taught them with..
For example I have my own language and for God, the Creator of everything is called in many names and I'm happy to call My Lord in those names as well coz it is just language to call our Sustainer unless specific gods or goddess names.. . But there is a general way of calling. Right. Not a big issue . But if you feel not good and boy willing.. Yeah avoid it.. But I don't see any such claim in Quran that we can't call Him in any language... Quran has taught arabic names of God meanwhile Injeel would have taught in that language and Torah would have taught in that language and Ibrahim would have called Him in his language and Nuh in his langin and Adam as he was taught by God..
Believer calls his Creator only and not anyone else and the Lord knows hearts of people. So for me not all Issue coz I know I call none other but My Lord / Rab He is my Ilah ie Allah / the God...
Problem comes when a name is given to specific god's or deities and if we use that name to call out Lord then it is bizzare.
Yes God may have other meaning for others but God has meaning of One Supreme who exists ever.. Otherwise English has to be redefined.. Lol..
Just keep things simple.. Your Lord knows your heart and you will be paid for what you do... Let me tell you one thing.. There could be many millions of believers who never called the God by name as Allah and still they would be in Janna.. Coz Allah is just Arabic.. And people lived before arabic as well..
So.. Call Whatever you call.. But He is the One... No equal to Him..

I have no issues you call Him as EIN or in any other names.. God knows whome you call.. If God listens to us while we call him then what is the big deal of it. But useless calling others in place of our Lord. .. It's not about name but it is about reality and intention...

Regarding verse 638 what I realized is in every translation it is stated "We have neglected nothing in the BOOK (ALKITAB) ... But after pondering a lot this Kitab cannot be the Book (Quran) or even any of God's book.. Here with the flow of the verse it is obvious Kitab means Arrangement / Law..
So what in fact God says in the verse 638 is all the creatures of His be it on the earth or on the sky they are just communities like human or jinn... And the important point He emphasised is in the same verse is such communities are not neglected and all in the Arrangement / law. .

So.. I believe the verse states "We have neglected nothing in the Arrangement / Law / Decree(AlKitab)"

I didn't translate the verse coz all translation is right except the word ALKITAB is taken as the Book to literally mean Quran but it is not Quran in the verse.. . .

                  Thank you...

720 Then whispered to both of them the Satan in order to disclose / unveil to both what was unaware / concealed / burried from them of their wickedness / disgrace. And he (Satan) said "Not abstained your Lord both of you of/from this tree except you both become two Malak or you both become immortals."

721 (is clear in all translations)

722 So he (Satan) indicated to both of them with delusion. Then, when both of them tasted of the tree, became clear to both of them their wickedness / disgrace (Sawwatahuma), and they both assaulted / beaten (thafiq) over themselves joining / fastening leafy twigs of the Garden (Janna). And their Lord called, "Did not I abstain both of you from the tree of this and stating to both of you that the Satan a manifest enemy to you. "

Well... Satan has no benefit seeing Adam and wife in naked state (and it was not the intention either of Allah) but to weaken their fortification / strength / unity (Libas) and motivate them with false delusions and go against God's instruction .. So they end up disobeying The Lord.. Adam and wife were innocent and not even aware what wickedness was and it was hidden for them by their Lord but Satan exposed the bad side of human ...

Naked and fancy stories are sheer waste...

Note I kept malakain as it is since no one knows what indeed Malak is...

Does anyone think that God's intention is to make both Adam and wife naked..? Satan worked hard with delusion to expose their private parts? Is that what you believe my fellow believers?

One privately asked me... I never think exposing private parts of Adam and wife were written, he questions me that how did Adam and wife realized after eating from the tree their WICKEDNESS / DISGRACE? Well very good concern... Though privately questioned I reply in public... Well to answer it, one should reflect God's instruction and Satans promise.. God never promised them anything if eaten you will be naked or bla bla.. Allah told them take Satan as enemy and don't approach this tree... But what Satan promised them was you both will become Malakain or even immortals... Now reflect... Satan tempted them with it.. So they consumed from it.. Nothing happened neither they became malakain nor immortals and obviously promised Satan is vanished as he always deserts people once they wrong themeslevws.. Satan never promised truth but he only promises evil... So Adam and wife realized it was a trap to go againat their own Creator and they realized they wronged themselves... So they assaulted themselves with the leafy twigs joining them..
Or had they become naked would they indeed realize they wronged themselves? What logic is that? Perhaps if they became naked they would have thought they indeed became malakain or immortals.. rotfl rotfl

Reflect believers... Which incident suits bet and which incident would have taken place.. And what indeed verses speak? Where did we go wrong to take them as naked?

Reflect believers... Which incident suits bet and which incident would have taken place.. And what indeed verses speak? Where did we go wrong to take them as naked?

                          Peace believers...

I do expects constructive criticism reiterating the possible fallacies in this translations of verses 720 and 722 in order for me to either get convinced or listen to those better translations..

So pls do share your thoughts or share your translations of these two verses to reflect...

                          Anticipate your participation...

                          Thank you...

37102 So when he (son of Ibrahim) attained / reached the progression / the moving / the running of himself, said (Ibrahim) O My son! Indeed I am seeing in the sleep / the dream of mine that I am sacrificing (slaughter) you. So look what you are seeing. " He (son) said. "O my father! Carry out with what is commanded. God willed, you will find me from the patient ones."

37103 So then both surrendered, (to the decision of sacrifice) lowered down / kneeled down (thalla) himself (Ibrahim) towards the forehead (son).

37104 And we called out to him (Ibrahim) that O Ibrahim!

37105 You have accepted / confirmed / assured the Vision (Ru'ya)? Like such we treat / suffice / answer (Najszi) the doers of good.

37106 Indeed that was a glaring test (Balau).

37107 And we restored / restituted (fidya) him (Ibrahim) of sacrifice (BiZibh) tremendous.

Needless to elaborate further when God's verses speak truth .. But if still anyone not getting the story .. Let me explain. .
Sacrifice does occur twice in these passages.. Note that.. same sacrifice which was spoken in verse 37102 in the first place is spoken in 37107 as well. No one can have of their choice change the sacrifice of 37107 totally into something else... Having said that..
Ibrahim didn't reach the son with a sword towards his neck or he put him down on slaughtering position.. Had he done that his son would have never recovered....Allah doesn't have to wait that far for a trial(balau).. All what Ibrahim did was surrendered, it means accepted together with the son, and before executing his vision Ibrahim lowered down on his knees so that Ibrahim and his son may look equal in height and approached his son towards his forehead... Isn't there any better way to talk to a young kid when he is literally sad rather than kneel down and be face to face as an adult... So God knew this is it.. No more delay. He called out... Have you made THE Vision (only one vision) into reality.. No need to ask in a language always in question form a literal question particularly surprising or horrible etc matters, but the tone could be question form and you all know that... Don't you..

So indeed God sufficed / answered coz Ibrahim was a saliheen and cannot let him go astray to this extent... So that's why Allah says "We restored / restituted (Fidya) to normal situation by avoiding that disastrous sacrifice... Restoration is vital ... In fact it was a trial / test (Balau).. Though Satan influenced him it was a test from God... Take Balau example 7141 God says.. 'Balau min Rabbikum Adheem' (Tremendous trial from your Lord) .. Yes King Pharou was the one killing but it was a trial from the Lord .. Note well that for your evidence .. Similarly, Satan is the one influecing Ibrahim but it was a trial from Lord'..

                            Thank you..

7117-118 And we inspired to Musa that throw your staff. Then when it was disintegrating / splitting / crumbling (Lam Qaf Fa) what they were deluding. So (he) distinguished the truth and made falsified what they used to do.

Here thalqafu is translated by almoat everyone as swallowed but it is not.. What Musa produced with the permission of Allah was real and a real thing cannot swallow which doesn't exist.. Coz what sorcerers produced were not real and never existed.. So how to swallow them.. Thalqafu means it was disintegrating and it is an imperfect verb as well...

726 O, Children of Adam, indeed, We sent down (Anzalna) to you a fortification (libas) to subdue your disgraces/wickedness (Sawathikum), and a rectification. But fortification of the consciousness is better. That is from a sign of Allah in order that you may consider.

You can see I have used Disgrace or wickedness to the Arabic word Sawwatha (in reply #23) as well if you see my Siyam translation I have used Fortification to the word Libas..

Now, one would seriously question, what kind of clothing/raiment Allah has SENT DOWN/Anzalna to the children of Adam.. No way.. it is not the right meaning of the verse.. Every verse where ANZALNA is used has a direct meaning that something has descended from Allah to the Earth be they verses or material aspects.. But never raiment.. What raiment children of Adam in general got? Unfortunately, all translations based on their understanding are translated as material garments. But they adjusted the verse Raiment of Righteousness with the next word..

                                  Peace jkhan.
We all go through GOD s trial and there are many phases in the journey.
Guidance is subjective and only GOD knows 100% the guided.

Seeking guidance and knowing for sure we are guided are two different things. We have to undergo a test and Only GOD Alone does the guiding not those who are guided-Think or even know for sure they are.

In reality we could think we are guided, yet pursue a line of arrogance/our own opinions and follow our ego.
GOD warns with His signs/Aayat for us to beware and keep going with sincerity and humility

Give them the news of one who was given our proofs( And verses-double meaning in my opinion-), but chose to disregard them. Consequently, the devil pursued him, until he became a strayer.
                                  وَاتلُ عَلَيهِم نَبَأَ الَّذى ءاتَينٰهُ ءايٰتِنا فَانسَلَخَ مِنها فَأَتبَعَهُ الشَّيطٰنُ فَكانَ مِنَ الغاوينَ
Had we willed, we could have elevated him therewith, but he insisted on sticking to the ground, and pursued his own opinions-followed his ego-. Thus, he is like the dog; whether you pet him or scold him, he pants. Such is the example of people who reject our proofs(and verses). Narrate these narrations, that they may reflect.
Bad indeed is the example of people who reject our proofs( and verses); it is only their own souls that they wrong.
                                  ساءَ مَثَلًا القَومُ الَّذينَ كَذَّبوا بِـٔايٰتِنا وَأَنفُسَهُم كانوا يَظلِمونَ
Whomever God guides is the truly guided one, and whomever He commits to straying, these are the losers.
                                  مَن يَهدِ اللَّهُ فَهُوَ المُهتَدى وَمَن يُضلِل فَأُولٰئِكَ هُمُ الخٰسِرونَ

This really could apply to any of us . We could say we believe in GOD s proofs but reject other Aayats of His Book- or misunderstand them or do the wrong thing with them...etc.
The last verses is clarifying that GOD Alone guides and knows who is truly guided.
It is not necessarily all those who say they are guided. Those who think they are guided should always be wary of the ego and keep seeking GOD s guidance - one should never reach the end of this-

Now ,while I appreciate what you do and you are trying your best to find the real interpretations, there is a straight forward way. Start with a view to complete the translation of the whole Qoran.

For example , I have been trying to translate the whole Qoran for me- In the last 5 /6 years- and put it out there for people to browse/check for themselves. I am still in the process of making sure I get the right consistent approach and guidance to complete my project.

In my opinion the best way to do a translation that can be useful is to put out one s own translation of the whole text and leave it at that. People can use or refuse or... through their own effort. Or do their own- . This will allow for better comparisons . Selected verses are bits and bobs that may not show the full picture.

At the end of the day GOD is the sole guide and we can only give our views/opinions/interpretations according to our own research/faculties.
Even if one thinks they are 100% right in their interpretation, it is irrelevant and will never guide anyone else.
GOD will sort it out for each guidance seeker to find their right interpretation.
Having said that I appreciate what you do.
                                  GOD bless you.
                                  Peace.

                                    Peace brother GL…

Well, I don’t think there is any point in translating the entire Quran into English by anyone anymore, since there are scores of translations in English itself.. Though my view.. In my understanding, all the translations I have read are 95 % correct of the entire Quran and the balance percentage are hadith prejudiced translations and it is obvious by reading them.. But a certain percentage of the Quran verses are translated with their own understanding like me or you understand certain verses in different ways.. So, I am trying my level best to understand that 5% that they have translated either with a traditional background or genuinely unwittingly like verse 726 for which there is no need for a traditional background but sheer misunderstanding..
I am not saying I am right out and out here.. But as a reader of those translations and comparison with the genuine Arabic Quran, I perceive that those translations won’t make sense. Well, of course within my understanding… Let those who are open-minded and seeking the truth alone decide what indeed makes sense for them, while they strongly believe that there is no flaw in the Quran unfortunately when reading translations it seems there are flaws as a consequence of faulty translations..

One thing, Brother GL, Allah will ensure that those who seek guidance will reach the absolute truth of what Allah has revealed.. In my case, I am not looking for flaws in translation while reading the book in English, to be honest, but strangely without any preconceived status of mind suddenly something pops up in my mind and informs pls re-read and it says pls re-read again and with that scenario, I get a different meaning to what is translated so I start checking the verse again and again why it pushes me and not allowing me to get to the next verse.. Then I realize that it is not the way it should be… And that’s my way of getting guidance from Allah.. But whatever I present here is subjected to debate or interrogation and no one needs to accept any of what I am saying or translating but use your own wits since you all have read the book and you all are erudite people in various fields… That’s all..

No one needs to accept anyone's translation... right.. but they have to accept the Quran but how they accept is what matters..

                                      Yes I understand you.
I am trying to say that GOD weeds out the true from the false by guidance and misguidance according to his knowledge of them and their convictions.
Scores of people have gone there with good intentions but failed to recognise the trap of the ego.

I am saying that for one s own satisfaction, it is better if they try to interpret the whole text ,even if they agree 99% with some other translations out there.. And not just in English or another popular language but in their own dialect /language they speak even if it is Arabic.

This will serve as a study , research, reminder/meditation...etc.
Then it will not matter if others agree or disagree , the guidance of GOD will be the most important factor and this will influence the outcome..
But I know your aim is sincere.
                                      GOD bless you.
                                      Peace.

1929 So she signaled to him. They said, "How can we communicate with one who is in the childhood(AlMahdi) attachment/inclination (Sabiyan)?"

That’s what makes sense for the verse and within Arabic as well.. In my case though..

1912 -13 "O Yahya, uphold the Scripture with determination/firmness." And We gave him the Wisdom of attachment/inclination (Sabiyan). And affection from Us and purity, and he was conscious.

And the similar word is used in relation to Yahya too and that too give the perfect meaning of attachment /Sabiya. If you read the next verse 1913 you will realize it is not about a child but attachment..
As I discussed with my lovely brother GL, it is my comprehensive understanding as of now, and not necessary for you to take it as the ultimate truth but to give it a thought and use your intellect whether it makes sense or nonsense..
                                        That's all...

2189 They ask you, about the entitlement (AlAhillath). Say, "It (Hiya) is assessments/measurements for the people and the debate of contentment (AlHajj)." It is not the dutifulness that you bring the objectives/concepts (albuyut) out of their superficialness, but, the dutifulness is one being conscientious, and getting the objectives/concepts from their comprehensiveness. And be conscientious of Allah so that you succeed.”

What! These Arabs did not even know the phases of the moon while they already had months and counting.. Is that even a question to ask what the ‘phases of the moon’ is? I was also blinded not knowing Arabic in the past and depending on what everyone has translated.. but the truth is different.. It is not phases of the Moon but Al Ahilla means to be the exact entitlement of worthiness..
