The significance of "Qul" in Quran
-
Bro! That's great! Why don't you just share those verses in which 'Qul' is translated as "Answer me" or "Tell me"?
Peace!
Salam..
Sure.. I didn't translate it and I present sahih translation. And you can replace Qul here with Answer Me or Tell me..
2111 And they say, "None will enter Paradise except one who is a Jew or a Christian." That is their wishful thinking, Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."
2139 Say, , "Do you argue with us about Allah while He is our Lord and your Lord? For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. And we are sincere to Him."
This meaning befits for Questions or challenges of Alllah mostly...
I wish this topic won't end just bilateral dialogue.. But if in case no one presents his/her view.. No issue.. You read all Qul verses and reflect..By the way... Note well brother.. This entire Quran is not words of Mohamed ie Messenger..but solely Allah's.. So when He stated Answer Me / Tell Me it won't represent Mohamed there.. he is just delivering message of God be it question or challenge or information or stories.. Messenger is just a mediator yo make it more viable communication..
Mohamed never intent when he deliver saying TELL ME.. it is Allah / God states it..
For example in above verse.. Mohamed never ever wants to challenge people but God is the one... Like stated above.. "Answer Me! Produce your proof, if you speak the truth" ..but mohamed can always advice... Talk to people within Quran verses and advice.. Like you advise me and I advise you or believers share...
Well.. Mohamed is a Messenger just read out verses revealed.. He never goes there and challenge everyone... But they hear the message.. And they know God has revealed such and that enrages them... Coz they can't answer God's call / Question.. -
salam.. You are aware or not I am not sure, but, Qul can definitely mean as well RECITE or even Give a sign or put forth etc.. So we can deduce within entire Quran what Allah represents according to context by this Qul.. Having a conversation with one two person or group won't spread the message.. Risala of Allah should be read out so that it is proclaimed so indeed the mesaage of Allah is DELIVERED by the messenger.. .. Quran was not revealed to go and argue with everyone but to deliver the message so that those who have their argument be replied by Allah.. Yes.. When people see the prophet they may drag him into argument, but he is a messenger and he won't speak anything other than what is revealed to him..
Thank you..

2951 And is it not sufficient for them that We revealed to you the Book which is recited to them? Indeed in that is a mercy and reminder for a people who believe.
7204 "So when Quran is read out, listen to it and pay attention.... "
2129 as well.Indeed Delivering message is reading / reciting the exact verses of Allah and nothing else... All will get their answers if they had questioned, claimed, argued, betrayed, doubted etc... When messenger recites God communicates to people.. So let them choose the answer .. I don't see any other way of delivering verses of Allah other than reading them out as a messenger... Advice is different...
You know definition of recite is in fact infront of audience.. Note that..

brother jkhan!
Translation cannot be interpretation but we can perceive what is being said so Qul translated as "Say" can also mean/be perceived as "to Ask", "to recite", "to speak", "to tell", "to relate" or "to answer" or "to announce" but all formations of the root Qaf-Waw-Laam are related with speech or oral communication. That is what I am able to extract from all ayahs. Mostly it is bilateral oral communication because other formations of root Qaf-Waw-Laam are also present in these ayats or in their context.
For example 2111 which as per my understanding
(None will enter Paradise except one who is a Jew (who thinks that only he is the guided one) or a Christian(who thinks that he is helping God to fulfill His mission)
is a claim which is also being claimed by different sects till today and you can still ask them to (Produce your proof, if you should be truthful.). This bilateral dialogue is still continuous and will remain till the Last day and God's revelation will keep guiding the Mu'mineen in this regard.Below is another example
قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أُنذِرُكُم بِٱلْوَحْىِ ۚ وَلَا يَسْمَعُ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا مَا يُنذَرُونَ
Say "I warn you only by the Revelation" But the deaf hear nothing when they are warned.
Notice both of the words in bold. This is a proof from Quran itself that the revelation is related with "to say" and "to listen" and not with "to show" and "to see".Would appreciate if someone could come up with a different perspective and more in-depth ideas.
Peace!

Just don't be dissapointed if no one step in.. Allah and his book is more than enough as guidance... Look for it... When other believers join, it helps in a way so that questiona are raised and weaknesses are pointed out or strengths are exposed.. Debate helps if intention is to seek guidance.. Be patient.. Perhaps no one much familiar with it.. Lol
Regarding the verse.. I warn you only by the revelation ... Yes.. When reading out verses of Quran it has glad tidings and warning.. People listen... We can only warn with the verses of God.. Verses of God already in tact and written.. We read out or let them read.. Communication cam be verbal / writing but message is written already so just relay verbally the same or point out the verses for themselves to read and reflect.. Even to say this statement "I warn you only with the revelation ' first messenger has to recite it.. So people know warning is in Quran...
Hope you got me.. -
Salam!
نَزَّلَهُۥ عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ tells that the first messenger of Quran had it in his Qalb so he could recite from his memory thus a written Quran was needed.

I am glad you brought this verse.. It is 297... I thought of this verse many times long time when people say Mohamed's heart was rendered into two and bla bla.. ... Let's discuss..God has three ways of communicating and it never changes.. Nothing is coming to heart by splitting it by magic... Here verse is very clear.. First it should touch the heart of the recipient and get attracted by it.. All prophetic messengers received messages in order to deliver their people and that is not by placing verses in heart... Then no need of tablets of Musa... Jibreal brought it for sure 16102 confirms .. First word is Read... When we deeply reflect it manifests to us that Jibreal brought it down in writren form.. One point.. Second and he didn't hand over the written pages and left.. No.. He read them out so messenger repeats.. So then messenger received the message purely in writing and read out what is written in it as well...
Heart is solaced by it and not went agaisnt them..Three mode of communication proves nothing placed in heart.. That's agaisnt sunna of Allah.. Inspiration of Allah is not Quran.. That's another way of communicating.. Wahi..
Thank you.. -
brother jkhan!
It seems that you are greatly inspired by the hadith (do not remember the reference) in which it is mentioned that Jibreel came in Hira cave with a green silk cloth and Iqra bi-ismi rabbika... was written on it so Jibreel asked the prophet to READ from the WRITTEN.
And then the same green silk cloth with image of Bibi Aisha was presented to the prophet (Reference Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3880)... Lol!
I quoted from a Quranic ayah 297 which you related with hadith and never mentioned what you think about revelation on prophet's Qalb as per Quran. Share your understanding.
Secondly, when you talk about three modes of revelation you forget to mention what the root ک ل م means. Is it related with written revelations?
Peace!

You misunderstood it totally... Just read it and get what I communicated to you... I explained what actually brought to the heart means...
Second point..
I don't need to bring another root word here while we discuss about Qul.. Just you explore what root كلم means.. Brief explanation.. Allah speaks / communicates means what? He has got a message and He delivers it.. And how? Three modes.. Role of communication is to pass the message in whichever way possible? Is that right? God opted and preferred three modes to communicate... If you think written mode is not communication then it is thebmkst weird thought ever...
And if you think that root of this word is only oral uttering then it is your own speculation..
Let me ask you a logical question? Does Allah talk to you through Quran or not? Stick to topic pls.. -

Brother, there is simply NO EVIDENCE that Quran was revealed to the prophet in WRITTEN MODE. Even there is no proof that Musa was given a Written Book/Tablets. Secondly, Allah DOES NOT SPEAK TO ME through Quran.
