Verses 2:183-184 are not related to 2:185 Shahro Ramadhaan

A widespread misinterpretation even by Quran followers is assuming the Quranic verses 2183-184 are related to 2185 Shahro Ramadhaan.
2183 was speaking to a the amanoo (past tense)...is continued to 2184.
2184 "...a prescribed number of days. So, whoever of you is sick or is on a journey, then a number of other days; and against the ones who can afford it, there should be a ransom of food for a poor person; whoever volunteers good, then it is good on his part; and to fast is good for you, if you know."
This verse ends here. Then the verse of Ramadhaan comes in a different tone.
2185 does not obligate fasting for everyone. It states a condition "faman shahida minkomo shahra..."...so whoever of you witnesses among you the shahr..."
But whoever is sick or traveling, the ransom is NOT of food for a poor person. Instead it is just said "...number of other days..."
The Ramadhaan verse is not severe as 2184.

2183 Amanoo is always in the past tense and not addressing new Muslims or Muminun of that time.
People wrongfully assume the Amanoo ayat are for a general audience. But they were not. They were for a specific group of people who believed prior to Muhammad's coming. See 4136, why were they being told to believe in Allah and the Messenger etc
Also, as mentioned in 2183 purpose of fasting was to attain MUTTAQUN, so if you were already from the MUTTAQUN you were not fasting.
2184 is talking about a different fast other than Ramadhaan. See the ransoms for punishments and Hajj.
2185 is conditional, and it's not a fast that everyone should begin doing.

2184 has variants and the message changes based on which one is read
Hisham reading "...a compensation - food for destitute people."
Nafi, Abu Jafar and ibn Zekwan reading "...a compensation of for destitute persons." - the ransom is 3 or more people and not one person as the other variant reads.
