So then you tell me the definition of what clear arabic tongue really means. It is not a language that is invented starting with the lecture (qur'aan).

I don't know and when the language evolved but I must say its not relevant to me. That's all zanni/conjectural information as far as I'm concerned.

All I know is, IN THE WORLD (which is ayat fil afaq to me , see 41/53), there's a linguistic system known as arabi. I then apply Arabi to understand al-quraan. From my application, i might attain the goals. So its not only a conceptual verification but a reality-based one as well.

Sorry, but this is what humans say . Allah tells us that al-quraan is in clear Arabic and the discourse including the word 'ibrahim' is in Arabic. So i'll try to understand it based on Arabic.

Thanks for clarifying your position. Perhaps what is more appealing is evidence. I have provided you evidence that Allah calls al-quraan to be in 'lisaanun arabiyun mubiin'. Therefore, all its words must be understood in Arabic. All the linguistic history you provide me will not change that. So can we have evidence please from al-quraan please, sir ?

79. The God has selected Adam, and Noah, and the family of Abraham, and the family of Imran over the worlds. (333)

95. So when he saw the moon rising, he said ?This is my Lord.? But when it disappeared he said ?If my Lord will not guide me, then I will be amongst the wicked people!?

96. So when he saw the sun rising, he said ?This is my Lord, this is bigger.? But when it disappeared he said ?My people, I am innocent of that which you have set up.?

97. ?I shall turn my face to the One who initiated the skies and the earth, in monotheism, and I am not of those who set up partners.?

98. And his people debated with him. He said ?Do you debate with me regarding The God, when He has guided me? I do not fear that which you have set up except if my Lord wishes it so; my Lord encompasses all things with knowledge; will you not remember??

99. ?And how can I possibly fear what you have set up; yet you do not fear that you have set up partners with The God, for which He has not sent down to you any authority! So which of our two groups is more worthy of security if you know??

100. Those who believe and do not dress their belief with wrongdoing; they will have security, and they are guided.

101. And such was Our argument that We gave Abraham over his people; We raise the degree of whom We please. Your Lord is Wise, Knowledgeable. (674-83)

102. Say ?My Lord has guided me to a Straight Path, an upright obligation , the creed of Abraham the monotheist; he was not from those who set up partners.? (6161)

103. Did the news not come to them of those before them, the people of Noah and ?Aad and Thamud, and the people of Abraham, and the dwellers of Median, and those overthrown. Their messengers came to them with clarity; it was not The God who wronged them, but it was themselves that they wronged. (970)

104. And Abraham seeking forgiveness for his father was only because of a promise he made to him. But when it became clear that he was The God?s enemy, he disowned him. Abraham was kind, compassionate. (9114)

105. And Our messengers came to Abraham with good news, they said ?Peace? He said ?Peace,? and it was not long before he came back with a roasted calf.

106. But when he saw that their hands did not go towards it, he mistrusted them, and he began to have fear of them. They said ?Have no fear, we have been sent to the people of Lot.?

107. And his wife was standing, so she laughed when We gave her good news of Isaac, and after Isaac, Jacob.

108. She said ?O my!, how can I give birth while I am an old woman, and here is my husband an old man? This is indeed a strange thing!?

109. They said ?Do you wonder at the decree of The God? The God?s Mercy and Blessings are upon you O people of the house. He is Praiseworthy, Glorious.?

110. So when the shock left Abraham, and the good news was delivered to him, he began to argue with Us for the people of Lot.

111. Abraham was compassionate, kind.

112. O Abraham, turn away from this. Your Lord?s command has come, and a retribution that will not be turned back is coming for them. (1169-76)

113. And as such, your Lord has chosen you, and He teaches you the interpretation of dreams, and He completes His blessings upon you and upon the descendants of Jacob, as He completed it for your fathers before that, Abraham and Isaac. Your Lord is Knowing, Wise. (126)

114. ?And I followed the creed of my fathers Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob. It was not for us to set up partners with The God at all. That is The God?s blessings over us and over mankind, but most of mankind are not thankful.? (123

115. And Abraham said ?My Lord, make this town a house, and keep me and my sons away from serving idols.?

116. ?My Lord, they have misguided many from amongst mankind. So, whoever follows me, then he is of me, and whoever disobeys me, then You are Forgiving, Merciful.?

So let the messenger be witness over you and you be witness over mankind. So persist in the learning connection and bring forth the purification and hold tight to The God, He is your patron. What an excellent Patron, and what an excellent Supporter. (227

189. And recite to them the news of Abraham.

190. When he said to his father and his people ?What do you worship??

191. They said ?We worship statues, thus we remain devoted to them.?

192. He said ?Do they hear you when you pray to them??

194. They said ?No, but we found our fathers doing the same.?

239. Surely, this was an exacting test.

240. And We ransomed him with a great animal sacrifice.

241. And We kept his history for those who came later.

242. Peace be upon Abraham.

243. It is thus that We reward the righteous.

244. He was of Our believing servants.

245. And We gave him the good news of the coming of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous.

246. And We blessed him and Isaac. And from among their progeny, some are righteous, and some are clearly wicked. (3783-113)

247. And recall Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They were resourceful, and with vision.

248. We had chosen them to enforce awareness of the ending .

249. And they are with Us of the elite, the best. (3845-47)

250. He has decreed for you the same obligation He ordained for Noah, and what We inspired to you, and what We ordained for Abraham, Moses, and Jesus ?You shall uphold this obligation , and do not divide in it.? Intolerable for those who have set up partners is what you invite them towards. The God chooses to Himself whomever He wills; He guides to Himself those who repent. (4213)

251. And when Abraham said to his father and his people ?I am innocent of that which you worship.?

253. And he made it a word to last in his subsequent generations; perhaps they may turn back. (4326-2

254. Has the story of Abraham?s noble guests come to you?

271. There has been a good example set for you by Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people ?We are innocent from you and what you serve besides The God. The history of Abraham's name is clearly a pun. Some say that the additional h to Abram is one given as a part of God's name, i.e. Y-H-W-H (read "Adonai").

Originally, the first Jew's name was Abram; G-d added the Hebrew letter heh to make it Abraham. "Abram" is an acronym for the Hebrew words av ram - "exalted father"; "Abraham" stands for av hamon goyim - "father of a multitude of nations" (Genesis, 175). Before he was granted the commandment of circumcision, Abram was an exalted father--a progenitor of spiritual achievements and a founder of a spiritual legacy; his deeds, however, remained "exalted," beyond the realm of the material. Upon his circumcision, Abraham assumed a role of influence upon "a multitude of nations"--a role that involved his refinement and elevation of the pedestrian and the mundane (to the extent that this was possible before Sinai).

While qur'aan speaks of a young Abraham carrying this name,

They said, 'We heard a youth talk of them He is called Abraham.

Genesis (171-5) claim Abraham to have received that very name at the age of 99 (which is certainly not the age of a young person).

I'm not quiet sure I get your point .
The title of this thread aims to clearify what "ibrahiim" stands for. As for the origin of this name - it has evolved from a game of words in hebrew and has there upon been put down in arabic script.

Sorry, but this is what humans say . Allah tells us that al-quraan is in clear Arabic and the discourse including the word 'ibrahim' is in Arabic. So i'll try to understand it based on Arabic.

Are there other words of this kind in the lecture that are not possible to clearify by means of splitting them into arabic roots or comparing them to other similar words that contain the same syllables? The answer is YES.

Thanks for clarifying your position. Perhaps what is more appealing is evidence. I have provided you evidence that Allah calls al-quraan to be in 'lisaanun arabiyun mubiin'. Therefore, all its words must be understood in Arabic. All the linguistic history you provide me will not change that. So can we have evidence please from al-quraan please, sir ?

The lecture tells that the language of it is in exclusively Arabic language. However, it is a claim of your own to say that all its words must be understood in Arabic.
Now...our conversation keeps on in english. Does that mean that you can trace my name based on your knowledge in english language exclusively? "St?phane"...ste fan, "common summer breeze" maybe? It is clear that Arabic is related to the other languages, words are similar and borrowed etc. Why is is so hard to except that? This is the nature of a language and how it develops.

In English we say Algebra, but that was from Arabic, so is it in English? This is silly, of course it's english now, you can find it in dictionaries.

I have to agree with el-Aziz, I think that this pure arabic tongue is going too extreme, and obviously the words will still be related to other languages because they are very close to each other.
