you don't i think are a believer in propheceise so you probably already must have worked this out.

Just my view that there is no prophecy from/in this ayah-as most of us think.

And this seems to me the most right as i can't believe in any prophecies as such.

Jesus was merely saying he is authenticating the past taurat and had brought a new message from Allah - i think.

Please allow me add my understanding.

I think it is very clear verse if you ponder on it a little.

"And when Jesus, son of Mary, said "O children of Israel, I am Allah's messenger to you, authenticating what is present with me of the Torah and bringing good news of a messenger to come after me whose name will be Ahmed But when he showed them the clear proofs, they said 'This is clearly magic'" 616

The easy way to understand this verse. Lets take a first addresee. Prophet Mohammed was addressed first and said that Jesus given a good news of a messenger who will come after Jesus. And when he (Ahmed) showed them the clear proofs they SAID (past tense) this is clearly magic.

"wa" - and
"mubashi-shiram" - bringing good news / promising
"bi-rasoolin" - with a messenger (please note it is just a rasool not AlRasool)
"ya'tiy" - will come
"mim b'adiy" - after me
"ismuhoo" - name of him
"Ahmed" - Ahmed (name cannot be translated)

"fa-lammaa" - thus, when
"jaaa-ahum" - came to them (please note 'hum' means 'them' not 'kum' means 'you')
"bil-bayyinaati" - with clear proofs
"qaaloo" - they said
"haadza" - this
"sihrunm-mubeenun" - clear magic

That means just a messenger (not AlRasool) came in between Prophet Jesus and Prophet Mohammed that was told to Prophet Mohammed.

I hope it is clear.

May Allah guide us all towards the correct path.

I am not a grammatist so i use lanes mainly

Arassal Ilaihe Rasoolan = He sent to him a message/or a letter/or a messenger.

Thoo Rasoolin = One who has a message.

So to me anyway , Rasoolin = Message .

And your next "Ya'tia"
