Interesting discussion by Mohammad Shahrour on the different between salat and iqamat al-salat

Discussion here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnC1J7XhmtIBasically his argument is:
- iqamat al-salat = the ritual prayer
- salah generally = connecting with God through dhikr
Argument number 2 comes mainly from 87:15:
He is successful, who purifies. (14) And he remembered the name of his Lord, so he prayed (SLW) (15)The argument is mainly based on the prefix 'fa'. He remembered God so he prayed.
He then argues that lam nakun min al-musallin (74:43) is an example of a place where dhikr/remembering God is more apt than performing the ritual prayer. Because people who deny the day of Judgement wouldn't be concerned with praying dhuhr and asr and such, but they cut off their sila (connection) with God entirely:
