Yeah, I meant the traditional mechanical aspect of salat, of bowing, prostrating, reciting, standing; the great "hollow-ness" of such robot like actions that is performed by millions of people around the world...

I would say that the traditional salaat is DECEPTIVE, and deception is a tool of evil. I think my answer is "Yes" to your question, but I don't use the word "affront" that much so I am hesitant to answer. although I did look it up. Coming from my understanding of salaat and what I think it offers as compared to the traditional method of putting your face on the ground and prostrating before a "god" that is not a THING to be prostrated in front of, then I have to say yes, it is an affront to humans.
