ElkeThanks for that. I knew Volker bit from Volkswagon, meaning people carrier. Funke mean spark? So the correct translation of his name would be A Sparkling Person?...umm Volker was not all that sparkling person, more laid back kind of a person, found it hard to grasp British humour. But he was an excellent badminton player (but with him being 6 feet tall did gave him an advantage!)

I want to become an actor .. want to act in Pakistani Dramas or Bollywood films .. now i keep thinking over and over in my head if its allowed in islam or not ?
I cant find any verses but still not sure ... u know when u hear things from ppl it makes u a bit doubtful ... I wanna convince myself thats its allowed but yeah ...
have any of u watched Paki (no offense) dramas or bollywood films ? if yes then u prolly know what it involves (haha nothing nassty )) ?
Someone pleeeease help me and avoind me tinking bout this over n over again ....Khi- Yes i watched them. Indian movies contain parts of pooja n idol worship which i consider forbidden even in a movie. it is a disgrace 2wards GOD. If u wanna act otherwise i believe thts fine but then again if there r pooja scenes n u know become part of them in a way tht ur on the side of the good guys n theyr the ones doing pooja or in other words u share their belief as part of the movie then tht too wld be a disgrace 2wards GOD. GOD Bless!
Movie is about telling story.......its just a visual form.
A movie is about society and people.......In my opinion there is nothing wrong in telling a story that might have different views or religious aspects.
What boils down might be the message. But if we are to allowe freedom for expression than obviously no movie can be banned from Gov's point of view.
And everyone is free to watch a movie or not. Its up to that person.

yeah i beleive that too but for eg. if u act in a movie which praises Hindu Gods then wouldnt that be promoting the religion ? so it would not be right to act in that kind of movie ? ....
what other factors do u guys think which make it haram or a sin to act in ?Btw who believes that haveing guy friends and girl friends is OK .. like to hang out and go out with ?

Well, as I understand, movie is a visual form of story telling. A story can be about anything. Killing ppl is great sin, So if we have such sequence in the movie than is it promoting to kill ppl ? I don?t think so.
We also have rape scene in the movie.......is it promoting rape ?
Isnt there ppl who believes in God and reads quran and even other scriptures ? Than does that person becomes of other faith ?
I think its all in the intension. A person is not bound to act in any role.......he/she can read the script and than decide either she wants to act or not.
But at the same time if we restrict movie with so much of complicacy, than it would be impossible to tell any story in visual form.
If we stick to such conservative attitude than one day these behaviors will add more entries to our superstitious database.

Don't see them any different.Most of my best friends and collegues are female. And I enjoy their company very much (and they smell very nice too -), I love the perfume "obession" -) ) but you can also can have some serious intellecutal conversation with them without the fear of being punched in the face!!! -)
