    Peace all

I believe that this title (Fake Vs True) is clearly a narrow way of categorizing anothers faith. I hold that Traditional Islam would be a more open minded way of 'labeling' the category.

    All comments welcome.

      Peace,

What about 'Alternative Islam' as a heading?

        Peace,

I think 'Fake Islam' is fine. Not to get too much into semantics, but when one categorizes "Fake Islam" as "Traditional Islam," people might think that the concepts Free-Minds is putting forth are new, and untraditional....or even innovations. Just my two cents.

          Peace all

I believe my point was missed. The word Islam it's self is a title when capitalized and not an action.

If we were to say that the sunni/shia interperation is fake 'submission, compliance, obedience' we would sound absurd, sinec we have not stated who the 'submission' is directed towards (The whole or a section of the whole.)

I believe that since this section of the site is dedicated to Sunni/Shia Islam that it be called traditional Islam as this word is used (in the english language) to signify a religion consisting of Sunni/Shia's.

I remeber an audio tape of mine about the OJ Simpson case. A lawyer stated that if all it took to lose the case was for a glove to not fit then they never really had a chance. Well if people are drawn away from free-mind's because they feel that it is something 'new/outthere' then we never had a chance either.

          peace,

My point was that conceptually speaking, free-minds is much closer to "Traditional Islam" than sunniism/shiism. The whole free-minds position is that sunnis and shias deviated from "tradition" ("True Islam" or how Islam is supposed to be practive) and created a whole new tradition of their own. Perhaps a better name is "False Islam".

The arabic word islam (surrender, submit, comply) is an action as I understand, to whom is no where mentioned (ie God).

If you do not capitalize/arabictise the word 'islam' then we should read fake surrender, submission or compliance. What does this have to do with God or the quran?

To say that free-minds understanding of this quran (reading) is the true one is limited as well, God is ever expanding just as our understanding, there is no greatest understanding only greater understandings and by labeling one's understanding as false or a lie accomplishes what?

              peace,

That is an applicable title, however the section only deals with sunni and shia 'Islam' and not every sect. Why not something like this

                  "Sectarianism of this quran/reading" idea

                    Peace.

                    How about "Sectarian Muslims" or

(islam in quotation marks on purpose)

                    or

(islam in quotation marks again on purpose)

                    or

                    "Muhammad based sectarianism"

                    or

                    "Hadith based Sectarianism"

                    or

                    "Hadith based Submission"

THough I still think "sectarianism" should work on its own, becuase all over this site wqe have ample evidnce that sunnism and shiism has more to do with christianity and other religions than the reading itself.

Christians and everyone, everyone in any religion is in a sect. And there are only a few who aren't, which includes us.

The reason I disagree with just simply "Sectarianism" is because the section only deals with two sects that revolve around this reading and not all sects, as there is much more of course.

Christians and everyone, everyone in any religion is in a sect. And there are only a few who aren't, which includes us.

That sounds like borderline sectarian talk. tempt

                      peace,

Open your perception even more, to win and to lose are the same act. God is everywhere; for this none lose.

                          peace!
