Modified Sunni salaat

AbdulMajid's Modified Sunni Salaat for Koran Alone
This version of salaat is for those of you who like the Sunni salaat but would like it to be done in a "Koran alone" way.
-
Stand with your hands up, palms foward, and thumbs touching back of ears.
Say "Allahu Akbar" once. -
While still standing, place your hands on your stomach, right on left.
Recite Sura 1 (The Key) once. -
Bow and say "Allahu Akbar" once.

Stand up straight and then get down to prostrate.
While prostrating say "Alhamdulillah", "SubhanaAllah", and "Allahu Akbar" three times each. -
Sit up from the prostration with your head bowing down.
Recite Sura 112 (The Unity) once. Pause for a few seconds and then give the statement of faith from 2131 which is "Aslamtu Li Rabbil Alameen" (I submit to the Lord of the worlds). -
Prostrate once more in silence and then rise. You are done. Keep God on your mind.
Stops 3 and 4 can be done twice for the morning and sunset prayer and thrice for the afternoon prayer. Those two steps can also be done thrice morning and sunset and twice for the afternoon. Any number of sets is appropiate as none are mentioned in The Koran.
The recited suras can be spoken in Arabic or English. All other words can be said in Arabic or English or even both.
Allahu Akbar = The God is the greatest
Alhamdulillah = Praise be to God
SubhanaAllah = Glory be to The God -

2)Standing say the Al Fatiha
The Opening11 In the name of God, the most merciful, the ever merciful
Bismillah ar-rahmaan ar-raheem12 Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds,
Al-hamdu lillahi rabb al-alameen13 The most merciful, the ever merciful,
Ar-rahmaan ar-raheem14 Master/king of the day of judgment/religion;
Maliki yawm ad-deen15 You we worship and You we ask for help;
Iyyaaka naabudu wa iyyaaka nastaeen16 Show us the straight path,
Ihdina s-siraata l-mustaqeem17 Path of those You bestowed favor upon, not anger upon, and not of those who go astray.
Siraata l-latheena anamta alaihim ghair al-mughdoobi alaihim wa la daaleen(Can say-Allahu Al Kabeer or Allahu Akbar)
Ruku-bow
3)Say -"Aslamtu Li Rabbil Aalameen" - "I submit to the Lord of the Universe" 2131.
4)Say-'Sobhan Rabi Al-Azeem' -"Praise my Lord the Great". 5674
5)Say-'Sobhan Rabi Al-Aala'- "Praise my Lord the Most High". 871(Can say-Allahu Al-Kabeer or Allahu Akbar)
Sujood-Prostrate
6)Say-'Al-Hamdu l'Allah alazee lam yatakhez waladan, wa lam yakun lahu shareek fee al mulk, wa lam yakun lahu waleyon min al zol.'- "Praise be to God who has never begotten a son, nor does He have a partner in His kingship, nor does He need an ally out of weakness." 17111.
Pause and reflect
7)End by stating'Al-hamdu lillahi rabb al-alameen'
"Praise be to GOD, Lord of the universe." 1010For more than 1 Rakat
2 Rakats1st rakat steps 1-6,2nd rakat steps 2-7.
3 Rakats1st rakat steps 1-6,2nd rakat steps 2-6,3rd rakat steps 2-7.
4 Rakats1st rakat steps 1-6,2nd and 3rd rakats steps 2-6,4th rakat steps 2-7.While I have the Arabic Transliteration in the above,I dont believe one must say Salat in Arabic,but can if one choses to do so, and if they understand what it means.
I dont have any hand motions like some use because these are not outlined in the Quran.And I only perform 2 rakats.Ive also left the Allahu Akbar statement out during movements as it is not found in the Quran.

I do not claim to have greater insight into Quran than any one else.I adopted this style because it takes its words and positions(standing,bowing,and prostating) from the Quran-2226,4829,4102 with no added content such as hand positions etc.Feel free to use it if you wish)For Dawn Salaat,I would also suggest reading some of the Quran between steps 5 & 6 or after Salat if possible-1778.

I like brother JHamza's understanding, which is very close to mine. What I will add is that one can say "Allahu Al-Kabeer" in the salat as it is supported by the Qur'aan. In fact ANY of Allah's glorious names mentioned in the Qur'aan can be recited in salat.
The Qur'aanic ruku would be the sitting position or the kneeling position. The word "kharra" in 3824 means to fall. One cannot fall into bowing but one can fall to one's knees.
The Qur'aanic sujud would be on the chin rather than on the forehead. (17108, 109).
The shahada mentioned by brother JHamza is not for everyone. Only Allah, His angels and "those with knowledge" can testify like that
318 God bears witness that there is no god but He, as do the Angels, and those with knowledge, He is standing with justice. There is no god but Him, the Noble, the Wise.
If one feels that one is included in "those with knowledge" then go ahead and say that shahada. For others who do not have knowledge can just say La ilaha illa Allah (there is no god but Allah).

Sorry for bumping a 12-years old thread, but I want to share my opinion
The Original Sunni Salat could remain as it is; the only thing they should remove is the shirk/semi-shirk things.
So I believe that the only actual modifications that a sunni/shia muslim who, after knowing the truth of the Quran, decides to remain within the traditions of his community (which is not necessarily a bad thing) are- removing "wa ash-hadu anna muhammadan rasulullah" during the prayer
- removing the special invocation to the Prophet Muhammad
- removing the invocation for blessings to the Prophets Muhammad and Abraham
- when praying alone, avoid greeting the angels. When praying with others they may do so, intending to greet the other members after the Salah (not considering it part of the Salah).
I think this is far more than sufficient.
