animals with claws forbidden ?

thank u very much for replying . i had read this verse . maybe it was some other verse . or maybe it meant "animals that eat flesh" . i m asking because i think i read that something else beides the things mentioned in 6145 is also haraam .
Khi- Salam. Actually it's not something else but GOD provides further details or different categories of DEAD MEAT(Carrion) n MEAT DEDICATED 2 OTHERS THAN GOD which is already prohibited in 4145 in the following verse
Prohibited for you are animals that die of themselves, blood, the meat of pigs,* and animals dedicated to other than GOD. (Animals that die of themselves include those) strangled, struck with an object, fallen from a height, gored, attacked by a wild animal - unless you save your animal before it dies - and animals sacrificed on altars. Also prohibited is dividing the meat through a game of chance; this is an abomination. Today, the disbelievers have given up concerning (the eradication of) your religion; do not fear them and fear Me instead. Today, I have completed your religion, perfected My blessing upon you, and I have decreed Submission as the religion for you. If one is forced by famine (to eat prohibited food), without being deliberately sinful, then GOD is Forgiver, Merciful.
So in other words the prohibtions in 53 r NOT further prohibitions but mere sub categories of two main categories in 4145. Btw vice versa 4145 provides detail as 2 which type of blood is prohibited namely running blood whereas 53 meantions blood in general only. Thus the two Quranic verses 53 n 4145 complement each other n must both be taken into account. This is the case with many other incidences in the Quran as well n is a remarkable phenomenom which also shows us tht the Quran indeed explains itself. GOD Bless! -

i remember as if i read a verse in koran that prohibited eating animals with claws . i think it prohibited it for the jews or may be for us too . cant find that verse . do u know the number ?

What means saying "Baheematul An'aam" are made "Halaal" for you? Why only Baheematul An'aam?

Very interesting observation ! The four categories of prohibited food are mentioned after 51 so those 4 categories seem to be a subset of "baheematul an'aam" only.

Good points. As I will demonstrate, it is not just livestock but ANY QUADRUPED ANIMAL OF THE CLASS OF CATTLE OR LIVESTOCK.
Following is the pm translation of 53
53 Made lawful for you are all the animals of the livestock, except that which is being recited to you, and what you are not allowed to hunt of the game while you are under restriction. God decrees as He pleases.
Original Text 53
From the wording of the above translation it seems obvious that "baheematul an'aam" includes "the game" also, and hence it appears that "baheematul an'aam" has not been translated properly.
According to dictionary of Al-Qur'aan by Abdul Mannan Omar
BAHEEMATUL AN'AAM QUADRUPEDS which belong to the class of cattle OR which resemble cattle OR any beast which resembles domesticated cattle in so far as it feeds on plants and is not a beast of pray.
Also there is no "and" in the original Arabic immediately after "except that which is being recited to you". Following is the transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo awfoo bialAAuqoodi ohillat lakum baheematu al-anAAami illa ma yutla AAalaykum ghayra muhillee alssaydi waantum hurumun inna Allaha yahkumu ma yureedu
Please notice there is no "wa" between "illa ma yutla AAalaykum" and "ghayra muhillee alssaydi".

SAYDI Hunting; Chasing gameIMO based on the above points the correct translation of 53 would be
53 Made lawful for you are all the QUADRUPEDS OF THE CLASS OF CATTLE, except that which is being recited to you, NOT VIOLATING THE PROHIBITION OF HUNTING THE GAME while you are under restriction. God decrees as He pleases.
From this it follows that "the game" or the hunted animals includes "quadrupeds of the class of cattle", e.g. deer. What is being said in 53 is that we are allowed to consume "baheematul an'aam", except the 4 forbidden categories, while under restriction, but we are not allowed to hunt while under restriction.
Now let us consider 56
56 They ask you what was made lawful to them, Say "All the good things have been made lawful for you, AND what the trained dogs and birds catch, you teach them from what God teaches you." So eat from what they have captured for you and mention God's name upon it, and be aware of God. God is quick in reckoning.
From this ayat it is obvious that "the game" or the hunted animals (what the trained dogs and birds catch) are also lawful. However IMO it appears from 53 that we are allowed to hunt animals from the category of "baheematul an'aam" only i.e. any animal or beast that resembles cattle.

Well what about fowl, ducks, geese and others then? Can't we hunt those? Are we not allowed to eat those since they are not "baheematul ana'am"?
I was incorrect when I said that we are allowed to hunt "baheematul an'aam" ONLY. What I should have said was that we are allowed to hunt animals of the category of "baheematul an'aam", i.e. "baheematul an'aam" is a subset of "the game". Thanks for correcting me brother Khizar.
According to 56 "all the good things" are lawful and that would include fowl, ducks, geese etc.
Also note the following ayaat
5624 And fruits of their choice.
5625 And meat of birds that they desire.
