    Salaam All,
Im aware of the origins of the Crescent and Star symbols, but is there anywhere in the Quran that forbids the use of symbols, especially those steming from paganism.

        Salaam brother JHamza,

We need to ponder on the following verse

26128 "Do you build on every high place a symbol, for the sake of vanity!"

          Salaam brother JHamza,

We need to ponder on the following verse

26128 "Do you build on every high place a symbol, for the sake of vanity!"

          Salaam tanverrmd

          128 Atabnoona bikulli reeAAin ayatantaAAbathoona
"Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves?

"You build on every hill a mansion for vanity's sake.

          129 Watattakhithoona masaniAAalaAAallakum takhludoona

"And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)?

"You set up buildings as if you last forever.

But it seems to be referring to Nice homes and not religious symbols, but I guess it could apply to that also

So 26128 should be "Do you build on every high place a sign, for the sake of vanity!" correct?
