Peace all. Can anyone give a 'conclusive' answer as to whether the bismillahs at the start of all surahs (except surah 9.) are part of the actual quran,or just headings?...
I have heard conflicting views on this....

      Salaamun alaikum,

Can you please tell me what a 'conclusive answer' is and why you deem it so?

Al-quraan has asserted that it was Allah who determined the arrangement of its content. This would include the demarcations between the kutub. Therefore, the basmalas are part of al-quraan.

Peace all. Why no bismillah at the start of surah 9?

Because its not another sura. sura 8 and (what is known as) sura 9 are one sura.

careful on this site it's full of misleaders who just want to destory an organized religion and feel like they acomplished something.

my favorite surah for 6 years has been surah 9 and i wouldn't wonder why muslims don't speak openly about it or begin in the name of ALLAH.
it scares people so some of the translated wish to hide that fact that it's from ALLAH so they don't end up looking like trouble stirrers and such.

so from this even though i wonder as well i'll say it's from ALLAH begin with bismillah yet i even have question about some of the titles but ALLAH will answer such questions in due time.
