Loving the prophet & your parents
-
Peace
O you who believe, your love for the prophet and the love for your parents are tools of affliction used by the devil.
You shall avoid him so that you may be successful.The devil only wants to cause strife between you through this love you have for the prophet
and the love for your parents, and to repel you away from remembering God and from the assembly.
Will you be deterred?P.S.
In the revelation sent to prophet Muhammad it says
"intoxicants, and gambling, and altars, and arrows of chance"
instead of the bold in the first part /
and "intoxicants and gambling"
instead of the bold in the second part.I know, they're not the same ('intoxicants etc.' and 'the love for...'), but I'm not talking about
the harms or benefits of alcohol etc. But just pointing out to you guys that these verses do NOT prohibit alcohol.Although "affliction" isn't really appropriate in this context, I believe it's clear enough
that alcohol is just THE TOOL, like anything else can be used as a tool by the devil;
and it's THE DEVIL that should be avoided! (READ Layth's posts on the "Alcohol and Gambling" topic).Wilson
