      Peace all,

      same question for xmas...

when in germany at my moms, we celebrate christmas together. But i do explain to my children what i think of it, what are its origins. It's also an occasion of talking about issa, of how pagan rituals have been integrated into later religions and so on...

The question always is what you make of an occasion. Anyway, i don't see any reason of excluding my kids of a social event bringing families together.

Actually, same thing also for all the other rituals and traditions celebrated here in Morocco and any place on earth!

Here if you don't serve harira everynight of "lunar" ramadan you just can't be a good muslim lol

Why not? As long as they don't end up believing its a sacred event. Like Elke said, explanations of traditions are always good things. It gives information without brainwashing or forcing your kids to accept only one viewpoint.

              Salaam,

Well when I was sunni I was very strict and I didn't allowed any celebration of other events than islamic events like eid.

Today I think it doesn't matter if u join a party there other people celebrate something because I'm clear what I believe. And my kids are well aware of this too.

But why celebrate????I guess I will celebrate that day I will enter Paradise D

I don't buy christmas gifts to my kids but I give them things to eid like new clothes, it depend how much money I have to spend.

              Peace Sis Maria

Sorry. I do not have my Qu'ran on me and I do not bring it to scgool. However, I do not know where in the Holy Qu'ran, but I am about sure it is there.
