Is this another scientific fact mentioned 1400 years ago?
-
Hello
I?m sure most of us have read about the scientific miracles in the Quran, I agree 100% that The Quran is not a scientific book rather a book of guidance to man kind, why then Allah included hidden messages about many scientific facts in His Quran?, I truly believe that people who are fluent in Arabic and are not arrogant don?t need those scientific miracles to prove the divinity of the Quran, the miracle will be evident to them just from the Arabic language and style used in every page in the Quran, like me for example I was already a firm believer in the Quran years and years before I started to know about those scientific miracles, so the question remains, why they have been included then?, again I believe they are there for the non/poor Arabic speakers who will possibly never recognise the language miracle of the Quran {The strongest miracle/statement of this great book), sure the miracle of the Arabic language is the Quran strongest, Allah has stressed in more than one location that this Quran was planned to be in Arabic, then Allah challenged the following to produce three lines in Arabic like it
- All Humans
- All Jinns
- All gods if any exist other than Allah
And for over 1400 years, non of the above managed to take on that simple challenge to write 3 lines in Arabic with the same miraculous style and been objective and to the point
Hence Allah with His mercy planned those hidden scientific facts in His book for the non/poor Arabic speakers over the generations as an assurance that these are His mighty words and can?t be human made in any way
The scientific miracles of the Quran is a common subject within the Muslim community and as I have always been fascinated by science and the universe (I have many books in this subject). Therefore I investigated all scientific facts that were talked about in the Quran with passion to the smallest details, I found many are very solid concrete facts, others are a bit weaker and a few were really stretched to make it look like a scientific miracle, possibly it is but I was not that convinced especially I don?t need it anyway to believe due to my fluency in Arabic. I was looking at it with a very fair and non biased mind, what I discovered a few months back that there is a verse that surely is telling us about a scientific fact that was never known 1400 years ago, I also found that it was never mentioned by any of the writers who exhausted this subject, hence I would like to take the chance and discuss it with all of you, please let me explain it and thanks for your patience
This is a tough one to understand but it is all logical and need a rational brain to understand it.
Firstly,1400 years ago the understanding was the earth is stationary and everything in the sky rotate around it including the sun, so 1400 years ago they considered the sun is the one that moves around the earth somehow, while this understanding was surely flawed in conjunction with their wrong understanding that the earth is flat and not round, so they thought the sun appears for its daily course to the whole flat earth at once then disappear to the other uninhibited flat side before it appears again as it rotates around the flat earth,
So when this verse was revealed that says the sun runs to a destined point, no one wondered as they understood already that the sun moves around the earth, i.e. the verse did not cause any confusion stating that the sun moves
?And the sun runs on to a resting place; that is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knowing.?
(3
-> The above verse did not cause any confusion to the Arabs, because they already thought that the sun runs around the stationary earth, their understanding was the earth is the centre of the heaven
-> But surely the verse does not talk about the sun running around the earth as it never said that rather the sun runs to an appointed which is confirmed by the scientific discovery that the Sun moves along a path known as the Solar Apex in the path of the star Vega at an incredible speed of 720,000 kmph. I?m sure you all read about this scientific miracle.
The verse I want to discuss with you is verse 2545, this verse starts with a very common Quran sentence ? ? which means in the common language ?Can?t you see??, whenever I see this Arabic words in the Quran I have to stop and read carefully what will follow, definitely it means that Allah is about to tell us a sign, the signs can be varied from a clear visual one to historical one to a simple fact, but what I found that whenever it is a scientific fact, it MUST comply with all generations understandings even if their understanding is wrong, like the movement of the sun that I explained above, and that is what I discovered with the help of Allah in verse 2545. The verse was stated in a way that does not conflict with whatever understanding at that time with miraculous use of short and briefed Arabic words, we will see that the verse is literally talking about a visual scientific miracle ?The movement of the shade?, that the people of the past can see clearly while thinking wrongly the shade moves due to the movement of the sun around earth, we will discover that the verse was talking indirectly about the earth as we all know that the shade movement is a product of the earth movement around its axis and has nothing to do with the movement of the sun
Let?s first look at the verse and see if you can understand anything from it, it is talking to us to investigate closely one of the signs of Allah represented in the movement of shades on earth
?Have you not considered (the work of) your Lord, how He extends the shade? And if He had pleased He would certainly have made it stationary; then We have made the sun an indication of it?
(45)
-> The verse starts by telling us to look at the sign of our God through the miracle of the shade movement ? ?Have you not considered (the work of) your Lord, how He extends the shade?? and in Arabic ? ?, very clear meaning in both Arabic and English, simply Allah is telling us to look at the shade of objects as this shade extends from 0 length to infinity and vise versa, then Allah is telling us that If He had pleased to stop the shade from moving He would have done so ? And if He had pleased He would certainly have made it stationary?, and in Arabic ? ?, Well, the Quran did not say that Allah will make the Sun stationary to cause the shadow to be stationary as the people of the past thought, so I understood it indirectly that Allah meant He would have stopped the earth from rotating around its axis.
But you may say this can be indirectly valid for the Sun too, i.e to stop the sun instead of stopping the earth according to their understanding at the time that the sun rotates around the stationary earth, which I may agree if the sun was never mentioned in the verse, however what came next in the verse surprised me then stroke me hard, Allah said straight after He said he would have made the shadow stationary, that then He would have made the Sun an evidence of the still shadow ?then We have made the sun an indication of it? and in Arabic ? ?
-> This is great stuff guys, Allah said that He will make the shade stationary without saying that he will make the sun stationary, this is an important point, because the Quran clearly said in another location 2133 that the sun swims in an orbit, i.e. if the Quran has said that the sun will be made stationary to make the shade stationary, no one 1425 years ago would have wondered because their understanding that the sun moves around earth and the Quran also said that the sun swim in an orbit ?NOT AROUND EARTH?, but if the Quran has said so i.e the Sun will be made stationary to make the shade stationary then this will conflict with science now days but not back then 1425 years ago, because we all know that the shade movement is a result from the earth rotation around its axis
-> So the Quran said that the shade will be made stationary and the sun will be an evidence that it is stationary, WITHOUT SAYING THAT SUN WILL BE MADE STATIONARY
-> Well any object on earth that have shade is actually part of the rotating earth even the atmosphere is part of the earth, i.e. when Allah said first that He will make the shadow stationary, He actually means that He will make the earth stationary around its axis then the sun will be there to prove that the shade ?and earth? are stationary without mentioning earth so no conflict arose with the people 1425 years ago when their understanding that the earth is stationary and can not be stopped because it is stationary
This is a miracle for sure may Allah accept it as one of the good deeds I did that may grant me forgiveness
Please let me what do you think as I know it is a tough one but I will be happy to elaborate until cleared
Peace to all

Salams Ahmed,
"The presence of a scientifically correct statements in Quran are usually considered miracles". Such statements were not scientifically correct 1400 years ago due to the lack of knowledge; but they become scientifically correct in this era as we can explain them. Hence these statements become miracles. For example Quran talks about "female ant workers" and "female bee workers". 1400 years ago people must be wondering why male workers are not working... we now know that male workers fertilize queen and dont work, only female workers work. (wish that was true for humans )
What you have put on the table is another type of miracle "Absense of a scientifically incorrect statement". If this would have been a work of a man than we could have possiblly found a scientifically incorrect statement such as "We can make the shadows still by making the Sun still" etc. I have recognized the miracle you are talking about and have appreciated the point.
I truly believe that people who are fluent in Arabic and are not arrogant don?t need those scientific miracles to prove the divinity of the Quran, the miracle will be evident to them just from the Arabic language and style used in every page in the Quran
I am not an Arab. I can hardly understand not even 10% of Arabic words in Quran. This is only due to resemblance of Arabic language with my mother tongue Urdu. I am just wondering what kind of miracle an Arab would see from the language and style? Is it easy to describe or is it something you can only feel? Is this miracle strong enough to convince a rational person that is a book of God?

Salams Ahmed,
Peace bro

possibly it is not like a mircale as such, for example like Jesus raising the dead, but we classsify it as such when a human being can't make a specific action
the action we have in hand is writing an arabic book and talking about numerous things in life and all what was talked about is standing logic and facts for 1400 years
this in effect proves this verse
"Do they not consider the Qur'an (with care)? Had it been from other Than Allah, they would surely have found therein Much discrepancy."
(82)
-> the above verse clearly says that if the Quran was written by a human, it would have included plenty of mistakes
a mistake here will be something that will not make any sense according to a common sense we have
for example 1400 years ago if the Quran said in verse 2545 that Allah would havwe stopped the Earth, then it would not make sense to the people at the time because they thought the earth was already stationary
as well if the verse told us that Allah would have stopped the sun to stop the shade from moving, then it would have not make any sense to us now days, because we know that the shade movment has nothing to do with the sun movement
and this is enough to concede that a human being can't have a guess at that 1400 years ago and write a statement then, to describe the shade movement and the statement stands accurate 1400 years after while the new understanding about the shahde movement was the total opposite to the understanding 1400 years ago, and this will make the statement non human and because it produced a fact that no one would have never knew 1400 years ago, it has to be a mircale (virtually)
For example Quran talks about "female ant workers" and "female bee workers". 1400 years ago people must be wondering why male workers are not working... we now know that male workers fertilize queen and dont work, only female workers work. (wish that was true for humans ) )
well do you think they would have known if an ant is male or female 1400 years ago?
honestly bro, if you show me an ant now days, i will fail to know if it is male or female lol

exactly bro, a human can not be capable of having guesses that stand true for eternity, in fact many old scientifc facts were proven wrong including facts by Einestien who admitted his blunder himself in one occasion

very hard to explain bro, but I will try to find some material that I wrote before, I believe we must be at least native arabic speakers to recognise the language miracle, and as the knowledge of the arabic language grow the recognition of the language miracle in the Quran will be much easier, it was very easy for me because of the following
- I'm a native arabic speaker (Egyptian)
- I'm good at the langauge and its very tough grammar
at young age I manged to recognise it easy, it is not something that you look for if you possess the above two items, rather it will come by itself with ease
Is it easy to describe or is it something you can only feel?
not eally a feeling rather a logical hidden message behind the words that this can't be human, it is like a background music that keeps repeating (this can't be human made), very strange man how the words were used how short the sentences can be while a strong message is behind that short sentence, how the same thing was said with the same exact words while only a couple of LETTERS changed and you get a whole new meanning, how one sentence can stand two differnt understand 1400 years appart, the rymes between the end of the verses, and the beauty when telling us stories of the past, and how those stories was repeated with new info added and still no conflict all around and the ease of understanding most of the Quran, too many things bro that make this book the best/perfect ever arabic book found on earth
Is this miracle strong enough to convince a rational person that is a book of God?
100% man, I can tell ya lol
peace be with you

Salams,
About ants I did not mean to say that people could tell by looking at an ant if it is a male worker or a female worker, in those days. What I meant was, people must be wondering 1400 years ago why Quran is talking about female ant workers. Why not talking about male ant workers. Now we know why Quran talks about female ant workers because male ant workers are sitting at home with the queen. If this book was written by a man then possible he would have made the mistake of talking about male ant workers in Quran and that would have resulted in scientifically incorrect statement. For me presence of scientifically correct statement in a 1400 year book is a great miracle.

Although as a non-arabic reader I can only feel the beauty of the music specially surah Rehman. But it is good to know that choices of words in Quran amazes its Arabic readers. I have noticed that sometimes few Arabic words sentence in Quran translates into 10+ words sentence in English and even then the translation could be wrong. I sometimes wish I knew Arabic.

yeh bro you may see rwo words sentence translated to 10 words senstence, this is not arabic rather how the Quran use the variation of words to create the shortest possible sentence with the biggest possible meaning(s)
I know an enemy of Islam who conceded that whoever wrote sura Al Rahman must be very talented in the Language
kniowing arabic is great but guess if it started at young age it should be much easier

AhmedFrom what I understand, the verse says that God could have made the shadow stationary, and the sun would be an indication of this. However, you also said that ancient people thought that the earth was flat and that the cause of shadows was the sun's rotation about the flat earth. If this is true, then the verse could be interpreted as saying that God could have made the shadow stationary and we would know by observing the sun(possibly that the sun would also be stationary). Well, this fits both the modern conception and the ancient one, so who is to know which conception of the universe the verse intended? Do you get my meaning? Could you explain further?

that is exactly right bro
However, you also said that ancient people thought that the earth was flat and that the cause of shadows was the sun's rotation about the flat earth. If this is true, then the verse could be interpreted as saying that God could have made the shadow stationary and we would know by observing the sun(possibly that the sun would also be stationary). Well, this fits both the modern conception and the ancient one, so who is to know which conception of the universe the verse intended? Do you get my meaning? Could you explain further?
sure bro I understand what you are coming from
let me try to simplify it
we have two opposite understanding
-
The earth is stationary ( The old days ) ( The sun rotates around earth) and causes the shade to change length
-
The earth rotates around its axis ( Th late days ) and causes the shade to change length
under the old understanding to stop the shade we need to stop the sun, based on the assumed fact that the earth is staionary already, if the Quran has said so that Allah will stop the sun to stop the shade then THIS WILL BE AN ERROR IN THE QURAN later on when science discovers that cause of the shade and consequently it can't be from God as God should not make any mistakes, as well He told us the Quran does not have any mistakes, this will result in the religion is fake
but Allah didn't say He will stop the sun, AND HE ALSO MENTIONED THE SUN IN THE VERSE but to only prove that the shade has stopped ( sure we need a sun or any source of light to creat a shade for any object) and that is what the sun will do to prove that the shade is not moving any more
Imagine the sun is not mentioned at all in the verse, just like this "Have you not considered (the work of) your Lord, how He extends the shade? And if He had pleased He would certainly have made it stationary. period,
while the above example of a verse has nothing wrong if the sun nor the earth is not mentioned and the verse can be interpeted as "with the willing of God" He can just stop the shade, without giving us a hint in how He can do that
BUT The SUN was mentioned, I believe to give the later people a hint on what God meant to say, for the old people it will go unnoticed as mentioning the sun as an indictation of the still shade may be understood as stopping the sun because they thought the shade movement is the result of the sun movement while the earth is stationary and the Quran already told them that the sun swims in an orbit and also it told us the the sun runs to a destined location, no chance of conflict here
Mentioning the sun in the verse as an indication of the still shade is the hint to the later generations as far as a believe, because it means f"or me" that Allah did not mean to stop the sun as if He meant so he would have said so when He mentioned the sun, but He included it without saying it will be stopped rather a second event following the first event (stopping the shade), the second event will be to prove that the shade is still, you see proving that the shade is still does not require mentioning the sun or the earth as an evident to the stopping, because people will see with their own eyes that the shade has stopped, consequently mentioning the sun is a great sign as far as a believe for us to recognise that Allah meant stopping the earth BUT HE DID NOT say that so His message is not compromised as the early people back then most likely should have thought that Mohammad (pbuh) is crazy to suggest stopping the earth
Allah knows best
Peace
