I was interested in buying myself Arabic-English Lexicon by Edward William Lane for research purposes.

The price is unblievably high for two volumes (?280)

    http//www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0946621039/ref=pd_rvi_gw_2/203-0838641-9219130

I know it is available online, but I wanted a printed book.

Anybody know anywhere it may be available cheaper?

    Peace.

      peace,

      You have two options

      1. Its cheaper here for about ?200
        http//www.albalagh.net/bookstore/?action=view&item=0629 (depends where you live)
(thats where I bought mine from)

      2. I bought the above 8 volumes in order to get them scanned and put online, which I did here
        http//www.studyquran.co.uk/LLhome.htm
Since doing so, I do not use them so they are sitting left unused. If you want, I am more than happy to send them to you. The pages are all separate (due to them being cut for scanning) but all in the correct order and still sorted into the volumes. This is not really a drawback as it would make the books much easier to use if you put them into a ringbinder folder and separated each letter by a coloured separator or something. In fact, this would allow space to write notes which I think would be quite handy. If you feel uncomfortable getting it for free, you can either pay the postage or do some work on PRL (http//www.studyquran.co.uk/PRLonline.htm) if you wish.

      Let me know.

        Assalamu alaikum brother Wakas,

Thank you very much for the offer. Jazzakallah khayr. However I think I will just purchase the ones from amazon due to the quality and two volume presentaion (if I do get it).

But I appreciate your offer very much and thanks once again! )

However, I would still be glad to contribute to the project root list if/when I get the lexicon. I will inshAllah remember to ask you on how to go about doing so if/when the time comes.

        Peace to you.
