What is the meaning of God alone Qur'an alone?
-
In your own understanding, is al-Qur'an sent by Allah to explain what already exists as the reality or it introduces a reality different from our experience of the world?
Both.
What exists as reality of the world ad-dunya
A reality different from our experience al-akhirat
Do me a favour and tell me where this is going please.
Is al-akhira a new reality being created by the Qur'an or is a meaning already in existence?
I will then tell you where this is going God willing.
-
Brother mquran, my question is very simple.
Is the concept of al-akhira an existing reality which the Qur'an is explaining or it is a new thing just coming into existence?
In another way, does the Qur'an explain al-akhira or it merely introduce the concept?
My dear brother! We do not need to quote al-Qur'an to eat through our mouth - do we?
Where is the explicit verse of the Qur'an telling you to use the username 'mquran' in a forum like this?

It explains it fully.

Al-quraan gives you instructions on how to live life. In the areas where it is silent, Allah gives you the freedom (5/101-102). However, the problem is, people are INFRINGING upon the space demarcated by al-quraan. Take Mr Mehdi who has inserted a new criteria about becoming a mumin. Al-quraan clearly tells him on what to do to be a mumin but he insists upon another criteria. THATS the problem. Eating with forks, chopsticks, fingers is not.
-
My understanding is that al-Qur'an explains. Al-Qur'an could not be explaining what does not exist already.
Where an understanding has become obvious, there may be no need to quote al-Qur'an.
"Allah does not change the condition of anyone until they change what is in themselves" - what do you understand by this?
"It is not the eye that becomes blind but the heart in the chest" -what do we deduct from this?
"They have heart they do not reflect/understand by it" What does it mean?
"Except the one that returns with a sound heart" -What heart?
Is it not obvious that the heart is the foucs of the Qur'an?
Is purification of NAFS not the same as purification of the HEART?
-
Omieza, it seems to me that you're never going to quote al-quraan in this discussion. So if its so obvious to you, good for you. Its obvious to me that your arguments have no Quranic basis. Until you actually get what im saying here, that your 'obviousness' is false and has no quranic basis, im wasting my time. Peace.

What about the four verses I quoted?
-
Dude, you quoted verses about the heart, sure. The problem is, you deduced that the heart is the same as the nafs. THAT deduction has no quranic basis, if you see what I mean.
Is purification of NAFS not the same as purification of the HEART?
There's no tazkiyatun qalb in al-quraan, only tazkiyatun nafs.

Please explain to me what is nafs and how it is different from the heart? Remember Allah is talking to me and referring to things that are present in me - you tell me what is the function of nafs and heart according to al-Qur'an. Allah has not left anything out in the Book.

Sorry, but I dont conduct one-sided discussions. I have been pandering to your requests out of goodwill but it seems that you will not address my points. Until you do, this discussion is at an end.
My point is Is al-quraan your criterion?
If it is, shouldnt your check before counting something as wisdom?
If it provided a criteria for something, can you add to that criteria ?
Address these points and we can speak of qalb and nafs, inshaa Allah.

Al-Qur'an is my criterion.
It is not everything that al-Qur'an will have to spell out for me. As a human being, I have a context and it is the basis of Quranic revelations. Al-Qur'an addresses my reasoning faculty.
If al-Qur'an provides criteria without explicitely stating that I should not add, I see no reason why I can not expantiate on that. It is only a machine that is given every bit of instruction. Allah addresses me as a person that already has a foundation.
How could Allah be communicating with me in a language He has not explicitely taught me first?
Now what is the function of NAFS and how is it different from HEART? How does a person purifies the NAFS? What does a person do to a sick Heart to become P U R E?
-

I see, so you believe that al-quraan doesn't say you shouldnt add to it?
And We have explained to man, in this Qur'an, EVERY KIND OF EXAMPLE yet the greater part of men refuse (to receive it) except with ingratitude!(17/89)
Do you know what a 'criteria' is Omieza? Its a set of conditions for a certain thing to be true. For example, to be a mumin, Allah said you must be A, B and C. If Mehdi comes with his hadith and adds D, would that make al-quraan your criteria or both Al-quraan and mr Mehdi ?

Can't we break down the A into a,b,c,d and do the same to the rest?
Allah has given many examples in the Qur'an but the particular example of A,B,C you have just given is not in the Qur'an - have you acted against the Qur'an?
Will you please teach me about NAFS and HEART? The functions, the differences? I am eager to learn from you.

Peace to all
just my 2c regarding the hadith posted by Mehdi
I see the hadith not really specifying a classification to be a believer or not, rather if you want to be a believer then you should love to see the good happening to yourself also happening to another peacful human, it is about prefecting the faith
Imagine someone is calling him/her self a believer while full of hatred and jealousy to another human, it does not make sense at all
let's consider the hadith as a great teaching from someone wise "NOT A LAW" like the many advices the teachers and parents give us
Peace

Omieza, here's my final post on this thread
Can't we break down the A into a,b,c,d and do the same to the rest?
No. Because A,B etc are the smallest denominator.
Allah has given many examples in the Qur'an but the particular example of A,B,C you have just given is not in the Qur'an - have you acted against the Qur'an?
Once again , I will repeat
Al-quraan tells you what do to be a mumin. If you add to this criteria, this means you have accepted ANOTHER criteria. So Allah is no longer your ilah. Allah + Hadith storyteller is your ilah.
There is a group of people who are really inspired by flowery words (6/112-113) . Allah gave a solution too (6/114-115)
Ok, thats all I have to say. Peace.
