^^If thats the case then I don't think your husband is perfect as you say he is P

By sayin housewife you've given me the impression of a typical asian kuri that have no say or cannot go out of their house as they're tied down at home.

        PEACE

          2Pac_Notts

Explain what my husband has got to do with me being boring.

See how quickly you assumed that because i said housewife it must have something to do with me being supressed by my husband.

what i meant by housewife was i get very tired taking care of my home and family. My husband goes to work at 3pm and comes home 5am( very long work hours). he gets too tired to help during the day so naturally i take care of all the housework, paperwork, gardening, DIY,kids and cats.
The one day he gets off work he helps all he can. Unlike some guys, he still gets the time to tell me loves me and sends me text messages, flowers and takes me out.

What about you 2Pac-Notts? Could you be this much MAN?

Oh i've got on someones wrong side today scared

Hey I was just jokin about with you. I gotta learn to be more careful with what I say here....I put this image after my sentence P to make it look like a joke and not having a dig at your husband or you at all. Obviously I don't know the guy or you and I was just jokin. Hope you didn't take it to heart. hug

Just to answer your question; if I find someone on my level then being "one" is a natural step or progression and you would treat your other half as you would treat yourself in everyway )

              PEACE

Yeah, that sounds like my father's "Islam"...irrational to the point of ridiculousness.....and it makes you scared to question it, because every little thing you do you're condemned to Hell. I'm glad you saw through all of it! WELCOME!

Sis Tahirah - Doesn't this sound like a challenge from Jaxal?

Salam to any one reading this post

I am going to need lots of hugs and kisses today(feeling quite emotional). I am finding it very difficult to cope with being a muslim and sunni at the same time and as much as i have enjoyed all the company and debates on this forum, i am still finding it difficult to let go of that last thread of hadith that i am still holding on to.
Since i started posting here i have this overwhelming feeling of being at peace with myself but the problem with peace is it makes you very confident, and confident people ask a lot of questions.
So i started asking friends and family questions about why they believe in Hadith and boy o boy did i get some bad looks.
I have been told that to deny the Hadith is to deny the Prophet(pbuh), but the Hadith doesn't make sense to me(never has). I don't feel comfotable reading it.
Yesterday i asked my brother in law what he thought about stoning and chopping of hands, he said it is a law of the quran and our prophet(pbuh) gave these punishments to people to reduce sin and crime. I asked him where does it say this in the Quran and he showed me in the Hadith, I said to him that i wanted to see this written in the Quran and he said there is no difference in the Hadith and the Quran. So asked him how he could compare a book written by a man to the word of Allah. He didn't have answer an to this so he started accusing me of not being a muslim if i don't believe in Hadith.
I kept pushing him with the same question of how he could compare these two books. He said the quran is of no use without the Hadith and vice versa. So i told him he should repent and ask Allahs forgiveness for equalling a man- made writing to his(Allahs) divine words.
Naturally he became very upset and told me that this is one of the reasons why our prophet said in the Hadith that hell will be full of women.
That we are evil and put evil thoughts into the heads of believing men.
So i told him the Quran is right we can't argue with the deaf, dumb and blind.
I want to know how everyone else here, who don't believe in Hadith deal with these kind of situations and do they get the same kind of response as i do if they question the authority of Hadith?

there Slaam Tahira dont worry I know what u feel. Sometimes when your in the situation its like your brickwall hehehe

I think it's best to stay calm and not show emotions and just use your intellect to question things and make the other person fumble hehe!! If the other person starts abusing or showing signs of aggression then you know you have defeated them and they don't have a response. If someone is honest and true to the heart I believe with abit of contemplation they will come to realise that the Quran itself is ENOUGH.

                            PEACE

                                Salaam Tahira,

I'm not sure how long you've been trying to talk to your family about the truth of al-islaam, but I'd like to say, dont expect too much.

For most 'muslims' in my experience, Islam isn't anything more than a socio-cultural identity. Its like a psychological safety net. Its there, its safe, its our heritage. I myself literally fell sick after rejecting hadith and sunnah. Most people don't want to go down this road. But after the pain, there's much joy.

I agree with 2 Pac. I dont think u should get bothered what people around u think, as long as u know, understand and realise the truth.
And for others, let them see the truth themselves. U do not need to explain the truth, unless they request u to. When they see u living the truth, they can see it for themselves if they use their sense. Truth is self evident and doesnt need much explaining or convincing.

                                      Thanks ALL

Its just that i kind of scared myself, being able to speak up like that.

I normally don't involve myself in confrontations and debates and now i can't seem to stay shut when someone says ridiculous quotes from Hadith.

You guys are a REAL bad influnce on people, your posts have started rubbing off on me and im becoimg confident . giggle

Tahira, allow me to share with you my strategy of deconstruction.

                                        1. Ask, was bukhari perfect in his collection?

                                        if yes,

                                        1. Ask , why then didn't his student muslim ibn hajjaj accept all his deductions?

                                        if no,

2a. Ask who then judges bukhari?

the answer will usually be 'our scholars'. Who then judges the scholars ad infinitum. In other words, there'll never be a unanimous source of hadith.

If fact, the 'mutawatir' collection which are BY DEFINITION unanimous collections dont have unanimity! That's how bogus this system is.l

                                          Salam mquran

I have recently started reading Hadith and it still doesn't make any sense to me . Some hadiths are ok, i mean they may or may not be true but are things that i can live with, but others will take you in the opposite direction. The writers can't make up their minds and seem to give their own opinions rather than what was actually said.

I would love to have some more of your strategies of deconstruction though. Its hard when you question one thing and then they throw another hadith at you to conceal what they could'nt answer to.
