    Hei everybody,

I thought I'd share with you some quotes from the quran this time. I collected these while debating a sunni trying to convince him to think on his own. No luck. However, the 'research' (if one may called it that) really did a great impression on me. At some point I even got teary eyes(corny i know but nevertheless), since now i knew for sure that Islam doesn't want me to supress all my thoughts and keep them bottled up. Rather, it was now my duty to process all my thoughts and take them into consideration whenever they popped up.

    2219
...GOD thus clarifies the revelations for you, that you may reflect,

    2266
...GOD thus clarifies the revelations for you, that you may reflect.

    3191
They remember GOD while standing, sitting, and on their sides, and they reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth...

...Say, "Is the blind the same as the seer? Do you not reflect?"

    7176
Narrate these narrations, that they may reflect.

    7184
Why do they not reflect upon their friend (the messenger)?

    16011
With it, He grows for you crops, olives, date palms, grapes, and all kinds of fruits. This is (sufficient) proof for people who think.

    16013
And (He created) for you on earth things of various colors. This is a (sufficient) proof for people who take heed.

    16044
We provided them with the proofs and the scriptures. And we sent down to you this message, to proclaim for the people everything that is sent down to them, perhaps they will reflect.

    16069
Then eat from all the fruits, following the design of your Lord, precisely. From their bellies comes a drink of different colors, wherein there is healing for the people. This should be (sufficient) proof for people who reflect.

    23068
Why do they not reflect upon this scripture?...

    30008
Do they not reflect in their own minds?...

    3021
...In this, there are sufficient proofs for people who think.

    10024
We thus explain the revelations for people who reflect.

    4082
Why do they not study the Quran carefully?...

We provided them with the proofs and the scriptures. And we sent down to you this message, to proclaim for the people everything that is sent down to them, perhaps they will reflect.

Why do they not reflect upon this scripture?..

    And verily We have coined for mankind in this Qur'an all kinds of similitudes, that haply they may reflect;

..These are proofs for people who reflect.

..This should provide lessons for people who reflect.

    88017
Why do they not reflect on the camels and how they are created?

    38029
This is a scripture that we sent down to you, that is sacred - perhaps they reflect on its verses. Those who possess intelligence will take heed.

    47024
Why do they not study the Quran carefully? Do they have locks on their minds?

      Hi Nadeem,

Thats a beautiful collection of verses!

      Good work

I agree completely. We are to use our brains and think and understand the true message of the Quran.

Here's a verse where Allah emphasizes on righteousness

2177 It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the Allah.fearing.

And this one empahasizing that the truth stands out clear.

2256Let there be no compulsion in religion truth stands out clear from Error whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.

      Peace!

          Asalaamu Alaikum,
I think you need to read this in arabic akhi. All of the words you are translating into reflect are not the same words in arabic....I could give you an itemized list.....but just typing in the verses in yaqb.org will show you the arabic and you will see that all the words are not the same....actually the word you are translating as "reflect" is actually better translated as "consider" (transliterated the word in arabic most seen in these verses is fakkara).
Just thought I'd point this out.
