I have been reading the dialogue on free-minds for about a year now. I too struggled with the understanding of salat,masjid al-haram,hajj etc. But after extensive patient research these topics are now much,much clearer. I feel very satisfied that several forum members have similiar conclusions even though we are from diverse backgrounds. I must state that sabr(patient rational perseverance) and salat(following the laws of the creater) are the method which i pursue in order to reach a rational,conscience compatible awareness.(the amr/command of god).
I must state that i think that some of the metaphorical understandings put forward by idol-free and mz375 are,in my understanding, very very close to the best understandings of the topics i talked about above. keep up the good work,soul searching and rational discussions all.
Those who willingly follow the laws of god will be successful.
