    Salam everyone,
You can bet on that bro Jaxal. That list of 99 names is from hadith and it is fake too. It contains an attrinute named "ad-dhaar" meaning "the harmer", an attribute used exclusively for satan in the Quran and provides otjher attributes which are not mentioned in the Quran. Moreover the list lacks in other attributes of GOD mentioned in the Quran like "Zul-FadlilAzeem(posessor of infinite grace)" which is indeed one of the greatest attributes if not the greatest since it's numerical value equals 2698 which corresponds EXACTLY to the count of the word "Allah" in the Quran. Also 2698= 19 X Integer. Infact the count of each word in the Bismillah occurs in multiples of 19, the last one Raheem occuring 114(19x6) times which is also the number of total suras and bismillahs, despite its absence on sura 9, in the Quran. The nvs of three other attributes correspond also to the counts of the three other words in the bismillah. The list can be found at
    http//www.submission.org/math-part2.html
under the heading "A STRONG FOUNDATION"
The Quran definitely contains more than a 100 attributes of GOD. Bro Edip has further claimed that the Quran conatains exactly 114 attributes but this has yet to be verified. GOD Bless!

Personally, I think the 99 names of Allah are used by our earlier muslims to meditate and contemplate upon. The living function is generally lost already, especially after people start attaching the funny hadith-tics traits to it.

                      Peace to all,

Asmaa Allah Al Hosna ?The beautiful names of Allah? are a fact mentioned 4 times in the Quran, we were also advised to call on Him by them, the Quran however never said how many names they are, rather they exist in the Quran as well we should leave the company of those who blaspheme His names, the point is there are many names to Allah that can be extracted from the Quran, we don?t need to call on Him using all of these names rather we can only call on Him by the names that are clearly extracted from the Quran as valid beautiful names that truly describe Him

?The most beautiful names belong to Allah. call on Him by them. And leave the company of those who blaspheme His names. They will be requited what they do.?

                      (180)

?Say ?Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well) for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. Neither speak thy Prayer aloud, nor speak it in a low tone, but seek a middle course between.??

                      (110)

-> Clear as light from 17110 that it is up to us to chose whatever names from the many to call on Him, we don't have to call on Him using all the names

?Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names.?

                      (

?He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms (or Colours). To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.?

                      (24)

                      Peace be with all

Why not 100 or 98? All beautiful names belong to Allah, I do not understand why some body reduced them to 99 names? One should reject calling the hadith revalation. It is just some historical records, not even written (Chinese wisper). Quran+knowledge+common sense is enough.

I guess they chose 99 names to give us the 100th name story! And that stupid 81 + 18 in the palm of your hands is quite hallucinating.

I guess they chose 99 names to give us the 100th name story! And that stupid 81 + 18 in the palm of your hands is quite hallucinating.

i wonder if you know what u are talking about

I'm talking about the 99 names of Allah and the story that those numbers are written, in arabic numbers, in the palms of our hands. It's a nice story but just that.

If you look at your left hand, you will see a upside down V and I . That in arabic is the number 81. Your right hand has the reverse. Hence 18. 81 +18 = 99 . And so is the great hadith story

                                    Peace,

So thats what it is, unfortunately, I do not have a V in both my hands. The lines never join. I bet they didn't think of that while making it up
