BBC programme on Noah's Ark
-
peace all,
After watching the highly interesting BBC programme called 'Noah's Ark', I would like to share the following points, from the programme
The hebrew word for land/country/earth is one word, so the flood described in genesis may not mean a universal one.
The Babylonians actually wrote about the story of Noah (although I think they called it something else) pre-genesis. (stone tablets found in Iraq)
The Babylonian story ends up with 'Noah' in the island now called Bahrain.
It was implied the priests who wrote genesis may have seen the message of that story and embellished upon it and included it in their writings.
They showed the plausibility of the story in genesis is weak.
No strong evidence for an ark in Mount Ararat.
