Tatoos! Haraam? Got One? Want One?

As Salaam Alaikum,
I would like to know if getting a permanent tatoo is haraam.
Do you know?
Do you want a tatoo?
Do you have one?
I think that I want a tatoo...I'll get it later on in life, maybe when I'm aroun 20...I want to make sure I want it. Trying to decide what I want and where I want it.
Is it haraam or not?

Why would you want a tattoo? I'm not against it, but I don't promote it either.

Most old people with tattoos told me they regret it and if time goes back they would have never done it
I guess it is personal, I don't like it though because it can be considered changing Allah creation

got one, will get at least one more. If I get old and they get wrinkled so be it. As a testiment to all things, it will wrinkle and change fade, but it will forever be part of me. The one that I have was very spiritually chosen and after 12 years, the sentiment holds true.

The latter may apply to tattoos as well besides gene manipulation because you are manipulating your body. Btw this often causes terrible infections to occur and should never be done for fun or for the sake of it. GOD Bless!
