    Asalaamu alaikum!

I will try to make this a very quick and short introduction.

I found Islaam in 2002. I was instructed by a very rigid Wahabi. 6 months later I left Islaam. I had a lot of problems with the hadith and traditions and methods of Islaam. I was told that ALL muslims were this way. I didn't know about progressive muslims!

After I left Islaam I wandered around lost. Islaam never left my heart, and I am being pulled back again. I will NOT go back to practicing Islaam the Wahabi way, but would like to know more about progressive muslims. I read some posts on salaat, and then decided to register and get in touch with others.

Sunni/Wahabism Islaam was not for me, but I still consider myself a Muslimah in my heart. I never stopped loving God. I have recently took up salaat again, the old way I used to pray. When I reverted in 2002, I was instructed to wear dresses only, hijaab, abayas, gloves and full niqaabs. Honestly I loved veiling, but my husband absolutely hated it. That is only one of the problems I had with the teachings I received.

I have begun to read the Quraan again, and to pray. I would LOVE to get in touch with some progressive muslims!

      Peace Muslimah

      Welcome to Free-Minds! D

As Abraham said to his progeny, "God has selected the system for you" . Heed this guidance and study hard. I cannot say there is a quick fix to this deen, but experience seems to play a key role.

          Salam "lostmuslimah",
Please visit http//www.submission.org and read and study their articles carefully. Most of their artticles are excellent and based on intellectual logic and proof within the Quran. Especially read the artilces regarding the hadith and sunnah and the mathematical miracle of the Quran. GOD Bless!

W salaam Lost Muslimah trust me u r not lost u r only realising the

truth dear there is nothing like organize religion n in Islam its just

a lie that u can go with out Hadiths they r true there is no going

around this ,Hadith show the true character of Prophet n his tyryny

from marriage to 6 year old child to killing infidels to marrying

manny women n using slaves for sex Quran only affirms this many of

them will bluntly deny this here but u can not hide sun by a mere

cloth or wut ever i,m not gonna preach u any new religion or old they

r all same with different colour but with same taste means they all

taste bad if there is a God that God will simply not deny u heaven on the base of not accepting him but that God will admit u to heaven if u have done good in previous life u have been a Muslim for two or 3 years i have been Muslim for my whole life i have given it all chances with logic n reason by changing from a Devbandi to a Wahbi to a Quranist but it simply failed me every time i hide the reallty from my self by ignoring it by running away from it but at the end i accept wut my insight judge for me i,m free now from this prision of religion ihave never feel so better in my life u,r insighit is u,r seer u,r Prophet i wish u best in u,r life

              Peace!

I did look at the "submission.org" site and LOVED it. It helped me to clarify a few things that I had been wondering about. I'm still not done reading the site, so I've book marked it and will return again and again. Thank you, Jonny, for posting it!

I also gave a little more background on my adventures in salaafism in response to "lil intro" on this forum.
