I'm wondering if there are any requirements to become a muslim? Is there some ritual or physical/certain belief requirement to convert to Islam?

There is a difference between Traditional Islam and 'islam based on al quran'. The former has "conversion" rituals/statements. If you want an "answer" based on the latter then it would be something like this

Believer is a wrong translation for moumen! IMAN and believing have a very small overlap! I think the time should be here for many writers on this site to take a firm position on this understanding!
