Peace all. What if shirk is the rejection of 'what you know is right'. This would explain why continually doing it leads to continual stress.(hell)

      PEACE

I personally do not agree with this due to the fact someone can reject righteousness and not be in continual stress. Look at people with power or money that abuse it or keep it to themselves. They are leading a pleasurable life with their wealth and material items. I know we don't know whether they are happy or not inside.

Not just that but shirk is defined in the Quran already of what it is.

Shirk I believe is constituting or attributing Godly attributes to anything other than The Most High Himself. For example as the Quran says your ego (2543) can be your God, even your children (7190), your spouse (924), your business (1835).

      PEACE

Peace. Maybe the people who are thought to reject what is right are not rejecting, its just our wrong(or un-informed) opinion of what they are doing. Wealth is not necessarily wrong.
Can a person who is unjust to humans but does not give a partner to god(in the understanding you presented) be successful? (by succesfull i mean happy)I dont think so personally. Just food for thought, not wishing to cause mischief.
        peace.

Successfull in what sense??If your saying successful in the next life then personally and God knows best but personally he/she wouldn't be successful in the next life because even if you don't do shirk its your actions that will get you to paradise not just mere belief in God.

Now if your talking about successful in life then only God knows best i don't know.

          PEACE

Peace all. I have a question. Is shirk a belief or an action? Or both?

              Hi

enq. I think shirk is giving credits/acknowledgements, due to God, to his creation.

Easy bmbmm!! What do you think of god creating everything from nothing? Do you think matter can be created or destroyed? Can time be destroyed? Is time linear or unravelling in different directions? (ie a future event can meet with a previous or current event.) Im looking forward to your replies. peace.

                  Hi enq.

According to physics matter was created from nothing. Time is just a reference, it is an illusion. Imagine a place were there is no time and samosas are Rectangular!
