If God had guided us, then we would have guided you.

Peace all,
I get mixed signals from the book.
For example 1421 is giving out the message that the person is entering hell becauase "God chose not to guide him".
1422 is giving out the message that the person is entering hell because "he entertained the invitation of the devil".
How can these two statements stand together?
1- God chose not to guide the person.
2- The person chose himself to follow devil and God has no role.There are various occurances of similar verses in the book.
How can we equate the 1 and 2? Any thoughts?
1421 And they appeared before God, all of them. And the weak ones said to those who were arrogant "We were following you, so will you avail us anything from God's retribution?" They said "If God had guided us, then we would have guided you. It makes no difference if we cry out or are patient, for we have no refuge."
1422 And the devil said when the matter was complete "God had promised you the promise of truth, and I promised you and broke my promise. And I had no power over you except that I invited you and you responded to me. So do not blame me, but blame yourselves; I cannot help you nor can you help me. I reject that you have set me as a partner before this; the wicked will have a painful retribution."

The people blame their leaders, the leaders blame God. This is exactly what the Iblis did in 716. Adam accepted his responsibility by repenting his mistake, Iblis did not want to accept his own responsibility and blamed it on God. Thus believing in pre-destiny is something Iblis does, not a believer.

Human beings are bestowed with the capabilty of knowing what is right and what is wrong(fa al hamaha fujuraha wa taqwaha). therefore the capacity to CHOOSE. This singular capacity makes us responsible for all our deeds. We choose therefore to be guided and we choose not to be , to act and not to act.God wishes us and works towards giving us guidance and at the same time satan works towards misguiding us (our hearts always prompts us towards evil) .

It doesnt contradict each other..
the person is entering hell because he is not guided by God, he is not guided because he entertained the invitation of the devil.. cause & consequence.
there's a verse which says, why would God guide those who deny Him?
another verse says.. if God will, all would believe...
.. there's no injustice, all will receive fully for their deeds
..we have free will.p1. believe--> guided
p2. disbelieve--> wrong path--> hell
p3. we have free will choose between p1 and p2.
p4. All will believe if God wants it that way.hence,
.. > "If God had guided us, we would have guided you"
...can imply "we're here because of the choice we made."Salam.

p2. disbelieve--> wrong path--> hell
p3. we have free will choose between p1 and p2.
p4. All will believe if God wants it that way.Thanks anonymous. I just loved the way you have laid it out! bravo That clarifies my confusion. Some how I was not able to see this connection.
Thanks Arnold, jankren, and jankren.
Arnold, I have read your articles on 19.org. "A Scientific Approach To Afterlife" was the best one. I found it very thought provoking. I will read the article on "Allah's Will" soon, God willing.
Peace all

Just glancing over your posting of the verses in question, I immediately noticed that the verses say, what the weak will say to the arrogant, and, what the devil will say to those eternally condemned. It does not say that the weak and the devil are correct or Quranically supported in their opinions.

Exactly Brian, this is why only an Iblis would blame pre-destination on God.
