what happens after death

and happens in the grave? cos the traditional sayings are too evil
-
Peace be upon you
I cant see any evidence for anything happening in the grave. My opinion is that you die, and then you 'rise' on judgement day. Time is irrelevant like when you go to sleep and then wake up, your passage of time is not felt, just realised by your altered surroundings and of course your clock.
peace out

What about dreams?? I forgot but there is a passage in the Quran which states I think the disbelievers will see hell fire day and night until judgement day. Anyone back this up or refute this please let me know because i'm not sure myself.

2pac, the verse you mention is this one;
"The Hell will be shown to them day and night, and on the Day of Resurrection 'Admit Pharaoh's people into the worst retribution.'" 4046
However, one can not be sure if this applies to ALL disbelievers in the graves because the preceding verse is specifically referring to Pharaoh and his people's punishment.
So it reads;
"God then protected him from their evil schemes, while the people of Pharaoh have incurred the worst retribution. The Hell will be shown to them day and night, and on the Day of Resurrection 'Admit Pharaoh's people into the worst retribution.'" 4045 - 4046

our body will stand witness against us on jd. i dont think the body takes any beating in the grave. on the other hand we feel more pain emotionally than physically. so isnt it the spirit?
