      I do not buy that!!

Why wouldn't those neurons act the same way when they are still in the rat's skull?

Maybe something is to do with the dish confused

        Peace sis "samia",

        I do not buy that!!

Maybe something is to do with the dish confused

JK- It has nothing to do with the dish. The neurons whilst in the rat have ALREADY ESTABLISHED A CERTAIN NETWORK AND IT GOES WITH CEERTAIN LEARNED PROCESSES FROM WHICH IT IS DIFICULT TO DEVIATE although they will react in some way or another if the rat's neurons are wired directly to the pc as well. But this was not the objective of the test anyways. The test was to demonstrate how free neurons CONNECT with each other by themselves through certain processes statring the self learning process. GOD Bless!

          This is awesome beyond words.

Maybe in the future we might be able to harness this!

What these scientists do cannot even be Islamic. Its sick what they do in these labs to Gods creatures.

              http//neural.bme.ufl.edu/page12/page1/page1.html

That?s a weird way to print a circuit board for a particular simulation. Basically, neurons were manipulated into proper resistance values or ?weights? as they call them at 2 of the channels for pitch and roll which is similar to moving a joy stick and increasing/decreasing resistance to control particular functions ? see whitepaper in pdf?

              http//neural.bme.ufl.edu/page12/page1/assets/NeuroFlght2.pdf

The weights within the network were modified using an
effect originally reported by Eytan et al. (2002) in which low
frequency (1/50 Hz) and high frequency (1/5 Hz) single site
stimulation pulses where shown to selectively enhance or
depress, the network wide response. For example, high
frequency stimulations of a single site would, over the course
of 15 minutes, reduce the number of evoked APs detected
across the network. In contrast, low frequency stimulations
delivered to a second stimulation site would result in a gradual
increase in the number of APs.

Still necessary is that feedback mechanism which guides to the straight path; i.e. eyes and decision intelligence of ?their program? to control the creepy joystick. lol

                Try this

                022.036
YUSUFALI The sacrificial camels we have made for you as among the symbols from Allah in them is (much) good for you then pronounce the name of Allah over them as they line up (for sacrifice) when they are down on their sides (after slaughter), eat ye thereof, and feed such as (beg not but) live in contentment, and such as beg with due humility thus have We made animals subject to you, that ye may be grateful.
PICKTHAL And the camels! We have appointed them among the ceremonies of Allah. Therein ye have much good. So mention the name of Allah over them when they are drawn up in lines. Then when their flanks fall (dead), eat thereof and feed the beggar and the suppliant. Thus have We made them subject unto you, that haply ye may give thanks.
SHAKIR And (as for) the camels, We have made them of the signs of the religion of Allah for you; for you therein is much good; therefore mention the name of Allah on them as they stand in a row, then when they fall down eat of them and feed the poor man who is contented and the beggar; thus have We made them subservient to you, that you may be grateful.

Numerous times, the Quran also mentions animals being a sign. How will you find the signs without opening them up?

Have you seen what they do to animals in these labs? It is sick, and the animals are alive at the same time. How can it even be close to islamic? They oppress the animals. If you are looking for cures for the human being, do it on yourself. Why should the animals have to suffer for

                  1. Something that has no relevance to them
                  2. Something that is our own problem

Look at lab monkeys. Some of them spend 20+ years in these labs, only to be experimented on. Remember how the makeup industry used to test its stuff on animals? This is something that is evil that it cant even be something that God would authorize.

Alright, I do agree with you there. I'm under the impression that in this video, they just took a slice of the brain for use. It's definitely nasty, what they do in some labs, but innocent until proven guilty holds here.

Well most of the time, the ugly parts of the procedure are rarely shown. Ive seen many videos and I just cant stand to watch them. Like one, I saw where they put a dog in a dark room, basically solitary, for his whole life, just to test the psychological affects. May God punish these oppressors and protect his creatures.

I could see if the animal was dead or if they monitored the animal (in their own habitat).

                      Peace

                        Peace "amuslim",
If your a sunni/shia then i surely cant understand your viewpt since 1) hadith commands to kill dogs and "muslims" all over the world dont like these creatures much anyways except some secular ones 2) sunnis/shias claim tht animals dont have souls anyways so pain is irrelevant.
I for one beleive that we can experiment on animals but i also agree that the methods used should be umane. In case of the rats i see no prblem if they were anasthesized and then cut open and their brains removed. "islamic" slaughtering would be more cruel compared to this. GOD Bless!

Im not sunni/shia, I follow the quran by itself. I am aware of those hadiths however. The hadith that comes to mind is I believe Abu Hurairya, the one that says that every black dog is the devil. I am also aware of the hadiths that say that God and the angels do not enter homes with pictures or dogs. The last that I know of is the saliva, which is apparently unclean and nullifies their ablution.

What would be a humane way to experiment with animals? Would the methods that I said in which many lab scientist do be considered humane in your eyes? Like I said, I think we can so long we do it in the animals habitat and with care.

How is islamic slaughtering worse? The animals get to live their whole life with care (at least they should) and out on the fields. Experimentation (the one Im speaking of) requires animals

                          1. Not to be free
                          2. Psychological damage due to be contained
                          3. Not live a normal life which God prescribed for them

and more. There is one hadith though that I can think of that favours slaughtering of animals. The one that states that you should slaughter the animal without the other animals in the way. That way it doesnt scare the other animals.

                          Peace
