A quick excercise in logic

you saidwhich we are commanded to do for Allah in the Quran .Where?
take the first ayah for example "al hamd ulillahi rabb il aalameen"
you saidsalat however does not mean worship but it includes worship ,show me in the quran please if you have the time.
salat is established for Allah's remembrance/zikr . we do we recite during salat ? Quran the zikr, and when bowing and prostrating we say "subhaana rabbi/be glorified my lord" . doesnt it even remotely look like "worship" ?

You said ?salat is established for Allah's remembrance/zikr? if salaat is indeed for remembereing Allah then me you are just wasting our time ,as me/you can remember Allah where ever we are and when and if we choose to ? whether your on everest or under the ocean or on the moon for that matter.?
Hence Salaat isn?t for remembering you could try seeing what on earth zikr means apart from remembering.

And this to me is showing that we ought to respect and think highly of Allah-that is all. Its not commending us to worship anyone like the cristos /jews or any other faith , but if we want to that?s up to us ?and its not a command as such ? if it is show us where.
Islam ?to me? isn?t something to parrot away its practical and provides benefits to /for its adherents.
Lastly; if at any stage of our discussions you find my post offensive please just say so and we can call it a day.

i did not say that we are commanded to "worship" . i said the salat can include worship . cuz when we say "al hamdu lillahi rabbil aalameen" ,saying this is indeed worship . and when we recite it in the salat , then salat includes worship .

we can remember him hundred of times a day , but we should establish the salat ,a special salat at specefic timings .

Salaat is nothing about remembering its about admonishing/problem solving/finding the right way/the best way through discussions e.t.c
will you ever learn or investigate it rather then being a simple follower of manmade stuff?

I've been looking at this thread, and it seems the participants are forgetting something. Because of this incessant dispute as to the exact definition of salat, perhaps we should be guided by the Koran, more precisely 37. When a verse is not clear, we are not to try to force our personal interpretation to it. We should try to look elsewhere in the Koran to give us clues to what God means... I am sure a logical mind that is not clouded by sectarian doctrine will be able to find it. So there is a challenge for all of you to follow, and I think if you follow God's instructions faithfully, you will all come to near the same conclusion. If not, then accept that everyone has the right to interpret the Koran for himself, but not the right to impose that interpretation on anyone. In the end none of us is the judge.

i dont know how u can say that. its is clearly stated that the salat is to be established at specefic timings .

629 O ye who believe! When the call is heard for the salat of the day of congregation, haste unto remembrance of Allah and leave your trading. That is better for you if ye did but know.

remembrance.! This is not right being used for the trans , should be more like admonition according to the dictionary.

I do not see it as a 'ritual' and arguments for it being a ritual aren't compelling..
I still heavily lean towards taking it as 'commitment' as it explains a LOT Of verses which remained shrouded in mystery earlier with the salat=ritual definition.
