Sex and Sexuality was quite free in India until the Mughals took over the subcontinent and destroyed many of the temples that celebrated human sexuality. After centuries of Mughal rule Indians themselves became conservative about sex.
I think Moghals brought some morality to the country. So, I would say they did some good really in that area.
The way Sex was celebrated in India before wasnt a good thing, in my opinion. It was just animal passion. Women were reduced to sex objects. They were even sold and bought for sex as slaves. The woman did not have any say otherwise. And there were no morals.
Come on look at those paintings and sculptures........in all those old palaces and ancient structures. They say a lot.I agree its very important to have a healthy and realistic attitude but not to the extent that people dont see any morals anymore. We dont want the world to become one big brothel, do we?wink There needs to be a balance in the 'celebration'. Celebration is good only if within a monogamous relationship. And I dont think it was primarily celebrated like this back then in India.

I agree this is important. There is an unhealthy attitude towards it in the muslim world. The muslim world is being ridiculously conservative. especially the fatwa and stuff.....shows how stupid their thinking is.roll

Anything excess is bad of course. And as human beings we are easily prone to doing things too excess. So yes excess is bad, moderation is good -)

I am fascinated in your method of pain control. I am curious to learn more. If you would not mind perhaps you could e-mail me the details. My experience with non orthodox method of pain control is very negative but perhaps you might be able to change my perception.

I disagree with your idea because procreation is necessary to continue having people living on an earth that can support them. Beautiful young lovlies with ripe bodies are great choices for us males and that's what we like. I personally do not want to have children for my own reasons.

I have heard people say that the primary use of sex is REPRODUCTION. I want to argue the case that we have reached a certain stage in our development as species that this is no longer the case. The primary function of sex is now is for pleasure. The REPRODUCTION function has become secondary and even then that has become a matter of choice.
Humanity as a species may have been driven by principles of Darwinian Natural Selection in the past but we have reached a stage where Darwinian Reproductive urge no longer is in control. But we are now in control. We are in a sense living in a Anti-Darwinian world and in this world sex is for pleasure and nothing to do it REPRODUCTION.
As for me I think Sex is one of the amazing thing you can share between two people. Sex is fantastic. Through consensual Sex I have felt a connection and a closeness that is more akin to a connection that you can develop intellectually with another individual. I also felt joy, satisfaction, contentment, fulfilment, peace and also a very good night's sleep!! wink
So sex is good. It relieves tension. It is amazing. And yes SEX IS FOR PLEASURE.
I guess for the young'en's on this forum this thread is probably not for you because you have to experience sex before you will know how good it is wink
Sex is good but please don't rush out and impregnate the first girl you find. Practice safe sex OK!!! -) or no sex at all and wait till you are married ok chaps and chapess -)

What evolutionary theory actually says is that the pleasure of sex is an adaptation for procreation.
Why is sex pleasurable and why do we humans go out of our way to have sex ? An evolutionary psychologist might respond that sex is pleasurable because the pleasure we experience is one of natures tricks to insure that we reproduce. What better way is there to guarantee reproduction than to make the very acts and behavior of reproduction rewarding and pleasurable? We humans are soft wired to follow the proximal goal of pleasure regardless of the distal goal of reproduction.
