    Salam, D

I have a question regarding Layth's article 'Where was Muhammad?'.
In the article Muhammad actually liberated Jerusalem instead of Mecca. My question is why is there no historical records about the event? especially the ones that were written by the Romans.

    Peace

      Peace,

Not sure if the Roman's would keep records of their defeat at the hands of "barbarians", but this is an event that would be interesting to trace (especially that we have confirmation from the Scripture that two battles took place with Rome, one which Rome won, and the other which Rome lost).

However, from the Muslim history side you have segmenets of the event recorded in the "Advance on Tabuk" (Ghazwat Tabuk) which was supposedly a battle the Prophet himself participated in and which, as a result, the Romans fled from the territory which would be today's Jordan/Palestine.
