Scholars Rethinking the Koran in Original Linguistic Context ? One Professor Thrown Out of Window Already
via Original Link (Dvorak.org)
A German scholar of ancient languages takes a new look at the sacred book of Islam. He maintains that it was created by Syro-Aramaic speaking Christians, in order to evangelize the Arabs. And he translates it in a new way?Syro-Aramaic was also the root of the Koran, and of the Koran of a primitive Christian system, is a more specialized notion, an almost clandestine one. And it?s more than a little dangerous. The author of the most important book on the subject - a German professor of ancient Semitic and Arabic languages - preferred, out of prudence, to write under the pseudonym of Christoph Luxenberg. A few years ago, one of his colleagues at the University of Nablus in Palestine, Suliman Bashear, was thrown out of the window by his scandalized Muslim students.
When the Koran was composed, Arabic did not exist as a written language; thus it seemed evident to me that it was necessary to take into consideration, above all, Aramaic, which at the time, between the 4th and 7th centuries, was not only the language of written communication, but also the lingua franca of that area of Western Asia.?
And here's the site with Luxenberg's work http//syrcom.cua.edu/hugoye/Vol6No1/HV6N1PRPhenixHorn.html
Any comments?

Dear Readers,
A new Quran is being distributed in Kuwait, titled "The True Furqan". It is being described as the ayats of the Shaytan, and Al-Furqan weekly magazine has found out that the two American printing companies; Omega 2001' and 'Wine Press' are involved in the publishing of 'The True Furqan', a book which has also been titled 'The 21st Century Quran'!...
It is over 366 pages long with both English and Arabic text. It is being distributed to children in Kuwait in private English schools!
The book contains 77 sooras, which include
Al
FatihaAl Jana
Al Injil.
Instead of Bismillah Al Rahman Al Raheem, each soora begins with a longer version of this, incorporating the Christian belief of three spirits, which opposes the Islamic belief completely.
In one of its 'ayats' it describes having more than one wife as fornication, divorce as being non-permissible and describes a new way of distribution of a will opposing the current one. It also states that Jihad is haram; as well as attacking Allah!
All this is poisoning children with cheap prices this book can be bought!
Brothers & Sisters, please make sure you forward this information to all by any means e-mail, post in forums or on instant messengers... To as many people as possible, so we can stop this dangerous trick.
Please warn everyone & God may reward us for our efforts.
DON'T BELIEVE IT!
or see their site on http//www.islam-exposed.orgsounds like a sneaky little plan to trick Muslims into becoming Christians. >

Salaam Angel
I have a copy of this book "Al- Furqaanul &aq". It is written by a Christian Arab (no name is provided, of course), but I learned this from the reviews. I think it is meant to deliver christianity to muslims, (you're right in your assumption), thinking that publishing it in this form will be more friendly whatever. The language is poor, athough it is trying to imitate the language of the qur'aan and even borrow words and expressions from it. And instead of "Bismillahir ra7manir ra7im" it has "In the name of the father the word the spirit the only and one god".
(Published in texas, printed in Belarus)!
