    Salaams.

I wonder if this quistion has been looked into before - if it has would love the link. Thanks.

AAasa rabbuhu in tallaqakunnaan yubdilahu azwajan khayran minkunna muslimatinmu/minatin qanitatin ta-ibatinAAabidatin sa-ihatin thayyibatinwaabkaran
It may be, if he divorced you (all), that Allah will give him in exchange consorts better than you,- who submit (their wills), who believe, who are devout, who turn to Allah in repentance, who worship (in humility), who travel (for Faith) and fast,- previously married or virgins.

    How is this possible.

    God Bless All.

      peace
in the name of the Lord of all creation

i believe the Lord is talking about the next wife would do those things BETTER

If he divorces you, his Lord will substitute other wives in your place who are better than you; submitters (Muslims), believers (Mu'mens), obedient, repentant, worshipers, pious, either previously married, or virgins.

Read the previous verses to know what/ who God is talking about.

        Salaams Br,

submitters (Muslims), believers (Mu'mens), obedient, repentant, worshipers, pious, either previously married, or virgins.

i meant because all the words are listed seperatly therefore they are all different.

like a muslim is not as a believer and neither like any of the others ,pios, worshippers, obedient e.t.c

so being a muslim has not got anything to do with God at all.

it just means submissive as another bro. once said.

        ?

            peace,

I have a great discomfort hearing the word believer so often

HAVING FAITH and believing belongs to two different terretories. HAVING " IMAN" is walking on the path of FAITH.

FAITH moves you from inside. It is like when a mother looks to her child, she is moved from inside. and the child is moved by it. She does not believe!!! This is FAITH.

MO,MEN is the one that walks on the road of FAITH, HE IS A LOT LESS !! THAN a believer and the rest. MO,MEN IS the one who is LOSING HIS SELF. and GIVING that PLACE TO THE IMAGE of GOD.

You can see it in her/his compassionate and forgiving face and her/his doings.

            peace

                Peace

your answer is in the Quran of course

And those different traits being described are traits of good believers/submitters, remember Quran is fully detailed.

                Muslim vs Mu'men

The Arabs said, "We are Mu'mens (believers)." Say, "You have not believed; what you should say is, `We are Muslims (submitters),' until belief is established in your hearts." If you obey GOD and His messenger, He will not put any of your works to waste. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.
