My childhood didn't have much religious experiances. We never did anything. When I moved to Arizona, my family started going to church and I became familiar with Christianity. I am realizing more and more about God. I need something that I can understand. I want to experiment with some religions to find the one that I can believe in. If I died today, right now, I would have no idea what would become of my soul. This is why I joined this forum, to get a taste from a variety of religions.

It is great that you want to find out more about God and Live a Good Life. This desire is a blessing that he bestows on only a few people in this World.
I highly recommend that you read the Quran and remember to be aware of the differences between Arabic and English when reading. A single word in Arabic can describe something that English would need paragraphs in order to describe. Also, a single word can have multiple meanings.
So if you happen to be reading an English version of the Quran, it will suffice you, but if anything doesn't make sense, ask someone on this website or use a Lexicon (something like a dictionary but different- http//www.studyquran.co.uk/)

Whats up Matt, welcome I know you'll enjoy this place. They even have a online quran you can get to from the home page.(http//free-minds.org/quran/ can be used as a great reference) Just know this, there is a difference between the people here and other Muslims, you can have a serious religious debate without being immediately dismissed. And we could always argue over nonsense whenever.
Oh yeah, the wrong sterotypes of islam (the veil, mayrtdom, stoning to death, etc) dont exist here, people here have found the true islam.

I'm glad that you have decided to start searching for god. I was about the same age as you when I started searching. I researched/tried every religion I could thing of other than Islam. Then, I married my husband, who is a Quaran aloner, and I have finally found what I have been looking for. You can read about the dream that helped lead me to this path in my "How you came to GOD Alone?" thread called "My dream of truth".
