Quran - The Word of God or Man.

Are these the words of God or man?
The use of why in the following verses confuses me, it gives me an impression ?NOT SURE? ? But God is all-knowing?-
WHY DO NOT THE LEARNED MEN AND THE DOCTORS OF LAW PROHIBIT THEM from their speaking of what is sinful and their eating of what is unlawfully acquired? Certainly evil is that which they work.

WHY DID NOT THE BELIEVING MEN AND THE BELIEVING WOMEN, when you heard it, think well of their own people, and say This is an evident falsehood?

WHY DID THEY NOT BRING FOUR WITNESSES OF IT? But as they have not brought witnesses they are liars before Allah.
61 2. O you who believe! WHY DO YOU SAY THAT which you do not do?

BUT WHY WERE THERE NOT AMONG THE GENERATIONS BEFORE YOU THOSE possessing understanding, who should have forbidden the making of mischief in the earth, except a few of those whom We delivered from among them? And those who were unjust went after what they are made to enjoy of plenty, and they were guilty.

BUT WHY DO THEY COME TO THEE FOR DECISION, when they have (their own) law before them?- therein is the (plain) command of Allah; yet even after that, they would turn away. For they are not (really) People of Faith.

"These our people have taken for worship gods other than Him WHY DO THEY NOT BRING FORWARD AN AUTHORITY CLEAR (and convincing) for what they do? Who doth more wrong than such as invent a falsehood against Allah?

Fight then in Allah's way; this is not imposed on you except In relation to yourself, and rouse the believers to ardor MAYBE ALLAH WILL RESTRAIN THE FIGHTING of those who disbelieve and Allah is strongest in prowess and strongest to give an exemplary punishment.

WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU, then, that you have become two parties about the hypocrites, while Allah has made them return (to unbelief) for what they have earned? Do you wish to guide him whom Allah has caused to err? And whomsoever Allah causes to err, you shall by no means find a way for him.

AND WHAT REASON HAVE YOU THAT YOU SHOULD NOT EAT of that on which Allah's name has been mentioned...

And certainly We sent (messengers) to nations before you then We seized them with distress and affliction in order that they might humble themselves

YET WHY DID THEY NOT, when Our punishment came to them, humble themselves? But their hearts hardened and the Shaitan made what they did fair-seeming to them.
66 1. O PROPHET! WHY DO YOU FORBID (yourself) that which Allah has made lawful for you; you seek to please your wives; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

WHY WAS THERE NOT A SINGLE TOWNSHIP (among those We warned), which believed,- so its faith should have profited it,- except the people of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them the penalty of ignominy in the life of the present, and permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while.

AND WHAT REASON HAVE you that you should not fight in the way of Allah and of the weak among the men and the women and the children, (of) those who say Our Lord! cause us to go forth from this town, whose people are oppressors, and give us from Thee a guardian and give us from Thee a helper.

HE is asking us why? so that we get aware of our motivation
He is trying to move our conscience? to seek the sens of right or wrong.
He is trying to motivate our faculty of reason to deliver a just explanation.thank you for your thoughts )

Peace all. The quran quotes phaoroh on some occasions,...is that the direct word of god? Is the direct word of god only available in arabic?
To me the quran is the words of muhammed.(or the person/s that thought of it.) He consulted his own higher-self(inner voice/conscience.) and wrote down his thoughts/verifications. I believe he wanted to benefit society as a whole...I believe he emphasised that you should return to your true nature,by continually verifying how to live your life peacefully from your own conscience while practising good deeds,.....,not blind customs,harmful deeds or irrational views.(ie idolatory,obsessional illogic,destructive behaviour.) In doing so he(as a human with limited knowledge,and confined in a specific time and context.) made some oversights,contradictions and mistakes...along with some profound truths....
I just find it sad that many are idolising/obsessing his words and views(including the mistakes.) ,rather than living a peaceful/rational life and continually verifying/updating the truth for themselves,in an open-minded/humble way..... Which,ironically, i think was the core of the message/profound truths he was trying to spread anyway.....

My view certainly differs from your point of view.
I believe that the whole existence is the transpiration of ONE HIGHER BEING. and This transpiration is growing and evolving in an accelerating rate.
I believe that what prophets received comes from HIM. And its function is to accelerate HIS manifestation plan.
HIS book of nature shows that HE loves to create in Multitude and his painting shows HIS intention IS to create HIGHER levels of consciouseness and LOVE. Since HE is infinitief beauty HIMSELF the manifestation will continue its ever growing evolution.
Did the woord of prophets which were received from HIM still intact? One should be sceptical before accepting them all as ORIGINAL. But this fact neither prevents me to read Quran or Ahadeeth or Bible or any other Divine book.
I believe that Values are an inborn gift of GOD to us. So one should not need to go far to verify the DIVINE word. But one need to get straight from inside to access this DIVINE gift.

Just a few points though... why does this one being allow evil,hate and suffering if its goal is to raise us to higher levels of love and conciousness?
Ie, who is in charge,this being or the ones who spread suffering in the earth? Do you think the nazis and terrorists are participating and growing in this growing evolution of love? What lessons do we learn from a single being that supposedly allows children to die of hunger,disease and war?
Is cancer the manifestation of the divine?

Good questions, and heavy ones to discuss them all at once, Let me start today with the cancer and later to other issues.
I am a believer in ETERNAL life, so DEATH in my view is a shear transformation. I do not see LIFE as a limited timespan and therefore any cause beyond our reach wich causes its termination is accepted. Understand me correctly LIFE is the preciouse time given to us to GROW our SOUL. It is NOT given to have a good time or to have a mighty long vacation. It HAS a purpose and then the transformation will come. How that will come, by natural death or cancer or... It will come. When the unavoidable death comes, I will celeberate it as the DIVINE moment, as the moment of birth was.

Peace alpha97. I too believe in eternal life. I just wonder how a supposedly all-powerful being would teach children a lesson in spiritual growth by letting them go through cancer and horrendous pain. shock shock Why not let them go straight to heaven with no pain? Or teach/test us adults in a less painful way?

Stop wondering my brother.
It is all about VANTAGE point. The point from which one views the reality.
When we can evolve our vantage point, our consciousness evolves.Humans used to think that sun rotates around earth, because that was what they saw. Nowadays people still see the same thing, but their VANTAGE POINT is changed. They understand now that what they see is an ILLUSION and the reality beyond it is all the way around.
By correcting their vantage point, they can realize that earth rotates around sun.
Once the death is believed as the ending of life, then the vantage point will see the whole existence as a impersonal silly game.
Once the adversity and pain is believed to be the consequence of a random happening in a dead existence then one can see the whole as a sad accident with no point to it.
I believe that the existence has a very clear purpose and intention, so all that exists has a function. These functions are made of fields consisting of two contradicting poles.
Blessing of Love grows through Hate.
Blessing of Light grows through darkness.
Blessing of Peace grows through War.
Blessing of intelligence grows through ignorance.
Blessing of Good grows through Evil !!
Distancing Satan in our hearts brings us to the kingdom of GOD. So existence of Satan is a blessing.Those who do not see the blessing of adversity, will miss their possible chance to grow. They will keep constantly choosing for the easy way and what deviates from it will be called suffering.
I believe that from the highest possible vantage point which overlaps all the others, one would only see the existence of the DIVINE.For now

Peace alpha97. I accept some points of your post,but i believe you havent answered satisfactorily how an all-powerful god lets intense evil occur just for the benefit of learning and/or a test? If we stop wandering/enquiring then we may miss out on new knowledge and understandings. I believe we should know god by direct experience/questions and not by belief/witholding questioning.
