        Peace "idolfree".

Sure there are many charlatans out there, but all this does is make them hard against the truth. For example, if you took to them your philosophy of "19", do you think you would get 1 million dollars?

JK- code 19 is nothing paranormal so it wouldnt fall under that category and is not part of the challenge. However at this point id like to say that Martin Gardener, the famous mathematician JREF refers to, called the xples of the four words in the Bismillah being xples of nineteen as ingenius.

A Fraud? What do you call the flu vaccine? Is that not Homeopathy?

JK- Vaccination has nothing to do with homeopathy. Vaccination is the process of administering live, albeit weakened, microbes to patients, with the intent of conferring immunity against a targeted form of a related disease agent.
Homeopathy is the systematic dilution of a dosage, along with succussion or shaking, to a point where the original ingredient is not present anymore at all.
Check out wikipedia for more info on the differences btw these two.

        Too much money to lose.

JK- Do you know what JR is merely asking for? HES ONLY ASKING THEM TO SHOW THE DIFFERENCE BTW HOMEOPATHISED AND NORMAL WATER "JUST SORT THEM OUT AND THEY WIN" HE CLAIMS. It acnt get anymore easy than that. So this means theres no proof and they dont care. This shows exactly that they are insincere. GOD Bless!

          Peace brother idolfree,

344 This is from the news of the unseen that We inspire to you. You were not with them when they drew straws as to which one of them will be charged with Mary; you were not with them when they disputed.

This verse does not sanction drawing straws. It merely tells us what they did. The dispute could have been even after they drew straws.

590 O you who believe, intoxicants, and gambling, and altars, and arrows of chance are tools of affliction used by the devil. You shall avoid them so that you may be successful.

In this verse Allah clearly tells us to avoid "arrows of chance", and calls them tools of affliction used by the devil.

726 "And there were men from among mankind who used to seek help from the men among the Jinn, but they only helped increase them in sin."
727 "And they thought as you thought, that God would not send anyone."
728 "And we touched the heavens, but found it full of powerful guards and projectiles."
729 "And we used to sit in it in places of listening, but anyone who sits now finds a projectile seeking him."
7210 "And we do not know, is it bad that is intended for those on Earth, or does their Lord want them to be guided?"

In my understanding, according to these verses, the jinn used to sit in "places of listening" in "the heavens", trying to find out what was intended for those on earth. I think the jinn were able to eavesdrop on the conversations between the angels about orders received from The God to perform certain actions intended for certain humans on earth, and by listening to that, these jinn would also find out some things about to happen to someone on earth. The jinn however were not able to tell if what they found intended for someone on earth was really good or bad for them.

The men among mankind used to seek help from the men among the jinn asking them about the things the jinn listened to intended for humans on earth but it only increased their sin, so what they were doing was sinful.

The so called psychics work in a similar fashion. These psychics have jinn friends who the psychics refer to as "my spirit friends", and these jinn friends tell them about "what they listened to in the heavens" intended for certain humans.

When the arrows of chance or the coins are thrown, it is a tool of affliction of the devil. The devil is called on when one does that, and the devil causes these coins or arrows to come out in a certain fashion, and then one goes "wow it works !". But this is an abomination and makes one sinful, because instead of calling on The God, one is calling on the jinn or the devil. We can ONLY call on The God.

The ancient pagans used to call on similar "energies" in the past, and subsequently gave these energies different names and made them into gods and goddesses.

No, you are not not understanding. This is not fortune telling.

Some of the basic questions are

            1. Please comment on my relationship

            2. What is my incarnation objective (life lesson)

            Etc

This is not like "what are the winning lottery numbers tonight".

In this verse Allah clearly tells us to avoid "arrows of chance", and calls them tools of affliction used by the devil.

I need to make sure the translations are correct as I am sure they have not been looked into thoroughly. If they are correct then this speaks of Arrows, not cards nor coins. Why would only arrows be mentioned?

726 "And there were men from among mankind who used to seek help from the men among the Jinn, but they only helped increase them in sin."
727 "And they thought as you thought, that God would not send anyone."

I do not agree with jinn as some creature, they are the thoughts/fantasies of man. So I cannot follow that line of reasoning.

Tanveer, I forgot to address the last part where you stated it was "the devil" who makes the coins and sucgh turn out the way they do.

Who is this "devil" you are referring to?

Also, what is your position on the verse where the GOD sates "It is not you who threw but WE threw"? Is that still the "devil"?

                    Peace brother Kyle,

is verse 344 a meaningles verse carrying no wisdom for guidance of mankind?

Do you think that in this verse The God is sanctioning drawing straws when there is a dispute ? or He is just telling us what the people did ? Is telling us what some people did in the past same as sanctioning that act ? Drawing straws is finding something out the same way as arrows of chance or throwing coins or using cards. For example, Yusuf Ali translates this verse as

YUSUFALI This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal unto thee (O Messenger!) by inspiration Thou wast not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Mary Nor wast thou with them when they disputed (the point).

I need to make sure the translations are correct as I am sure they have not been looked into thoroughly. If they are correct then this speaks of Arrows, not cards nor coins. Why would only arrows be mentioned?

Then what is your understanding of 726-10, especially "the men among the jinn" and them talking about sitting in heavens in places of listening ?

I forgot to address the last part where you stated it was "the devil" who makes the coins and sucgh turn out the way they do.

                            Peace Everyone

I haven't visited the website as often as I used to, but I thought this post would be a cool one to begin my journey back to free-minds -)

I too use divination systems (the I Ching and I'm learning the Metu Neter) in order to gain a broader perspective of a particular choice or situation. From my knowledge of the qur'an, we are completely responsible for every choice we make in this life and in the hereafter. I use divination systems to gain a perspective-unbiased by my own "vain desires"-with the hopes of making better choices and beneficial plans (career, health, relationships, etc). I do agree that one's intuition is an excellent divinatory tool to tap into. I also testify that external divination tools such as the I Ching and Metu Neter help me recognize that little voice inside since, often times, the root intuition reflects what the I Ching says anyway. Sure, modern psychology would say that this particular phenomena is called "self fulfilling prophecy"...you know...you see what you wanna see. But then again, that's the whole point since the God is closer to us than our jugular vein. Or rather, in my heart, The God's intelligence experiences through our own consciousness as well as in the world.

I'm pretty much slow to knock anything until I try it. I must say that divination, in and of itself, has most definitely help me realize and tap into the omniscience of the creator that lies within and understand the dynamic world that lies without.

                            Peace.

                              Peace brother Kyle,

This is my question to you, what is the PURPOSE of us being told about someone using divination as if it is normal? All verses contain guidance, what is the guidance you recieve from this verse?

Even if the argument is about 345, 344 describes what they did to settle the argument. 344 mentions a historical fact about certain people using divination to settle the dispute and sets up the background for 590 which tells us to avoid doing that.

Also, what is your position on the verse where the GOD sates "It is not you who threw but WE threw"? Is that still the "devil"?

I could not find the verse; can you please quote which verse it is ?

Unfortunately I cannot get the search engine to work so I cant find it either at this time.

I shall await the quotation of the verse you are referring to (if there is any such verse).

I could not find the verse; can you please quote which verse it is ?

Unfortunately I cannot get the search engine to work so I cant find it either at this time.

Is it 817 you're looking for?

It was not you who killed them; GOD is the One who killed them. It was not you who threw when you threw; GOD is the One who threw. But He thus gives the believers a chance to earn a lot of credit. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient.

Ye (Muslims) slew them not, but Allah slew them. And thou (Muhammad) threwest not when thou didst throw, but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair test from Him. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Knower.

                                  Peace all,

The context of 817 is battle with the rejecters. It does not refer at all to the events mentioned in 344.

                                    Peace Tanveer, Kyle, and All

Prophet Yunus participated in the arrow draw, aboard the ship, and lost and so by doing that had realized that it was him that Allah was after .
We, I mean the people here, do something not far from that. They call it Istikhara = And there are several ways of doing it,, using the Quran is one. The goal of it is to ask Allah for the right answer to their dilemma. There is one condition if you decide to do Istikhara = and that is to accept the answer and follow it even if you don't like it.. They use in marriage, to decide if the will-be-marriage partner is compatable or not, etc...
Have you heard of Istikhara = before?

                                      Peace Taj,

Messengers have made mistakes, including Yunus. The fact that he took part in drawing lots does not mean that drawing lots is sanctioned by Allah. Why would Allah advise us to avoid it in 590 if it was sanctioned ?

Yes, I have heard of Istikhara, but isn't it according to the unverifiable traditions ? Does Allah allow it in al-qur'aan ?

                                        Peace,

Istikhara is strange and depending on where you are living, has different procedures. In Pakistan, my aunt told me to recite the 'quls' three times and then the 'fatiha', or some such before sleeping and I'll get a dream in which if I see a green light, it's all good and if red then I'm doomed if I persist. I chose to rely on my own good sense rather than on an infallible 'oracle'.
