Prayer from the Holy Quran

The following is one of the important prayers that we are taught from the Holy Quran
O my Lord! Deliver me and my family from such things as they do! (26169)
This was the prayer which Prophet Lot (peace be upon him) offered for protection from the evils of his particular society. This is a good prayer to know especially considering that whether east or west, we are living in an evil and sinful society. The fact that he included his family in this prayer is also important, because the family is the basic institution which needs to be united in order to ward off from the corruptions prevalent in the society.
In this day and age, there are so many evils rampant in the society, it is particularly difficult to raise a pious family which is mindful of its religious obligations. -
