Ramadan: I felt what Adam felt.

Hello everyone,
Once again I come to this forum to point out a point of interest that bothers me.
This Ramadan, I ve been dating a girl and time to time we hold close and i touch her very close while I am fasting. I enjoyed doing that as I realized few things about myself.
Since I started fasting at the very young ages it was a competition between me and my friends to see who fasted the most days. When I hit puberty, I had to fast because everyone in my family did so. I know now that I've been fasting just because it is like peer pressure. " If you dont do it, you are not strong enough"...
I ve frequented Muslims who would break a fast by coffee and a joint. And I mean a nice rolled fatty joint! It's true, I am not making it up but that leaves me wonder. Why fast at all? Why do we trick ourselves that we believe in fasting for God's sake when we do obscenities.
I feel like a hypocrite. I do not want to betray myself feeding two contradicting purposes in the mean time. I want to come out of the closet and not fast at all. I am physically able but not mentally. There are alot of factors that hold me from committing to the will of fasting. I fast because of peer pressure and that hurts my self-confidence.
I can feel how they force themselves to fast and pray without having the willingness. Sure they pray in Ramadan but as soon as it is done, they forget about it. Some people leave the Mosq after a Lecture then honk at each other furiously in the parking lots. We are ridiculous. Desires are ought to be pursued to fulfill goals and objectives but I am bashed by their judgement that I am just in love with life and not with Paradise.
How can we be like this and go to paradise?
Why do we do this to ourselves?
I hate this lol
Anyone with same experiences?

peace,
Many people, not just Muslims, do things for superficial display. Many Muslims I know treat Ramadhan like a bonus round in a gameshow, in which they try to score as many "good" points as they can, to increase their end total (points mean prizes!), but in the rest of the rounds (i.e. months) they go back to their usual ways. They live in the hope that all they need to do is be good and fulfill the rituals in this special month and they will be considered good / saved. Sorry, but sincerity does not work like that.
It amazes me that most cannot see the simplest of things. For example, if you ask anyone that person A would only be good when the rewards are multiple for person A, and not good the rest of the time when the rewards were average, would you consider this person genuine/sincere? They would give you a firm "No"... yet this is what "Ramadhan Muslims" do every year. Go figure.
At the end of the day, you have to be happy with yourself, and what you have done, with regard to your relationship with God. If you are not, then change.

Peace,
Theres nothing wrong with holding a girl IMO, but you cant have sexual intercourse at all during the day. The whole point of Ramadan is to teach you self restraint, appreciation, etc. so that you can emulate it in your everyday life.
You are right about how it doesn't make sense to practice Ramadan if you are a hypocrite the other 11 months of the year. I have friends that dont do Ramadan anymore as they are adults now. Whether they do it or not doesnt bother me, its what Wakas says, its your own personal relationship with God. Why should I care about someone else when I should focus on my own being?
Seasonal Muslims. Matter of fact, I'll go one up and say that they arent even Muslims at all. Its all tradition, it has no value at all in their life.
