      I don't think those verses have anything to do with "holes". More like, flaws.

      Have you seen the game of life? You have a large board marked with squares, and coloured squares at whatever position you feel like, and by applying a set of rules to every square each "turn"/iteration, very strange things happen. Like this http//www.bitstorm.org/gameoflife/

      Now think of this game of life in 3D, with the "squares" too small to see, and the time between iterations too small/non-existant. Pulling off a single colour somewhere on the board early in time should throw the end result well off, in the same way, that if there were flaws, we just wouldn't be here to see them.
