Re: News from around the world...

Peace,
Remember that most, if not all major media outlets are under the control of the global elite collectivists who are pursuing a one world government. When you read comments, political opinions and see how their views help this agenda then everything falls into place.
Zarqawi is said to be by some a created myth. And, lets remember most of us have been conditioned to believe our governments will not do anything untoward to their own people whilst there is ample historical evidence against it. However, when you think of 7/7 and 9/11 and the impact on the freedoms of all people you see we have surrendered more and more of our freedoms and created a greater government. And, then there is taking power from the hands of people and handing it to central bureaucrats.
Media is a useful tool to brain wash people into fear and foster false myths to support the new world order agenda. If anyone thinks this is too absurd then I would challenge them that this reality is more real than the dollar, pound is real money and the evidence precisely starts from there....

there are conservatives who are against the gov't. There views are never shown either.
The media does a great job of creating a strong image of something. Liberal means you support abortion and are against the war. Conservative means you are against abortion and for the war. There can be no gray area. If you are in the gray, you are a "flip flopper" or a "wishy washy."
The perfect example of this was the 2004 election. And it was a perfect example of another thing, that there really isn't much of a difference between republicans and democrats. They're all greedy monkeys.
Everyone of Kerry's policies was similar to Bush's. There were about 3 things they disagreed on abortion, war, taxes.
About the taxes, everyone of the politicians wants to feed us the crap that they are "spending their way out of debt."
They keep feeding the people this bull shit and they keep buying it. The problem is that if you tell people that you are going to raise taxes, you can forget about dreaming about winning any election.
Today, the rich and getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. The middle class is disappearing faster than jobs (which are being outsourced). The poor don't care about freedom, they care about food.
This is what 9/11 was about, and what the whole 'terrorism' thing is about. Controlling the people. As long as their safety is in trouble, they want the gov't to protect us. Bush=Jack in Lord of the Flies.
take away the people's sense of security, take away their money, and they will want you to control everything in their lives.
All these things no one in the news bussiness cares about. No one asks any questions about the iraq war, or 9/11, or osama bin laden. Scew the american dream, i'm moving to Canada. -

There used to be a question mark about the connection between Al-keyda and Iraq/Saddam. Just like WMDs, the bush admin was stumped and couldn't prove the connection. But now, after the media has pounded us with what the military/govt has told them to say, about zarqawi, etc... is that even a question anymore?

Salam Wakas,
peace all,
Since we have members from all over the world, I was just wondering what your views are of the news you get in your country?
Is it what you'd like to see as 'the news'? Is it objective/fair? Worldly? Filters out the irrelevant/sensational stories? Does it go behind the headlines to find out why? Is it mainly positive / negative content? etc
Members from the UK, feel free to respond to.
Wakas
I get the news from different TV channels. I check the US news (ABC, KRON4, and sometimes CNN), the Canadian news (RDI, and CBS), Euronews, and Al-Jazeera. I also often get news from PBS the independent Broadcast.
Objectivity is rarely the case but some reporters try to be fair and they are also entitled to an opinion anyway-). Most of the time the content is about war, social problems, health issues, and of course politics and politics. Most of the time the good news are left at the end. Peace. Myr. -
As salamu alaykum.
Respectfully. In Slovenia, we get CNN but sometimes there's no sound at very important news, at least important from my view, because there was this incident in Iraq somewhere and at that moment CNN went silent.
Later they apologized for the "few minutes of silence" .... but i think they maybe wanted to prevent some news to get out there.Of course, i could be wrong and something really got in a way.

Peace Myr,
The official version is that a group of young muslims bombed the subway trains in multiple locations and a bus at Tavistock sq in London last July. Those murderous muslims did it again so the story goes.

Respectfully.Muslims in Slovenia are still waiting for the permission to built a first mosque. We're denied of building mosques because authentic Slovenians say that we are decsendants from Turks and that Turks use to kill the founding fathers of Slovenia.
We have been waiting for the permisson for a building of the mosque for the past 35 years. We mad eonly one demonstration but it didn't help. These sunnis here are just not so passionate about a mosque.
As salmu alakyum.

Peace,
I don't watch regular news at all and haven't for about 5 years. News to me is what affects me and those with me. I get broader event coverage by listening to learned people discuss them in detail in radio format. You often hear about more things that way than through daily television news. For example, who here knows about the tragedies going on in Turkmenistan due to the dictatorship in that country?
I find satirical "comedy" style programs often have a pulse on the deeper issues also. A program on TV called "Chaser's war on everything" showed a contrast between the treatment of Westerner's vs "Islamic" people. In Australia it has become illegal to videotape or photograph sensitive locations. The story showed an 'American' tourist who was videotaping the Harbour bridge and security cameras around it - after 15 mins no response.
Then a man in Arab clothes and headgear did the same thing. Within minutes security was present.
At the Lucas Heights Nuclear Reactor, an 'AMerican' tourist was questioned after a few minutes and when he asked where the reactor was - ie. most sensitive areas he was guided to inside the facility and he continued videotaping! It was only after he got to the door that he was turned away!
An Arab clothed and headgeared man at the same location was pounced upon and within 3 minutes there were 4 police cars with a dog squad!!
It shows how deep the stereotypes are and how ridiculous these things are. As if a terrorist is going to go out in full "Islamic" gear with a video camera!
Regards.
