Just thought I'd let you think about this concept, which forms the basis of my article on salat (of which I'm about 70% complete).

My understanding thus far...

al salat is not the prayer.

al salat is not the link. This is essentially its purpose however.

al salat is not the assembly. Although, this is the form in which it would take place most of the time.

al salat = the oration
