3 year research ,why isn't The Islam Working?

I am a post Grad student and
My three years of study of the quran has shed the following light.
Why doesn?t it work for us, the world over?
Quran is simply about our normal everyday life, the best way of our interactions with others.
Our interaction with others is basically governed by the laws.
The law brought out by men, by counsel is from God. (391
Final ? the quran tells us the best methodology of our interaction with others and tells us to obey the law.
This is in all communities of the world some having it less some more.
The words in the quran have been redefined to rituals and idolatry that is all.
And the message depicting ?best ways of interacting with others and the encouragement to obey the law? have been thrown behind our backs, and isn?t considered sacred ? unless one is caught out, or unless it?s in our favour.
Therefore the world of the so called Muslims is in chaos and can never get better unless they follow others, whilst the rest of the God fearing world will be successful as the quran has promised us.
What a funny world.

Peace simple. In my opinion what has happened,has been the decline of the spirit of inquiry, real life observation,common-sense and the necessary SPECIFIC updating of GENERAL MORALITY in accordance with the times and conditions...This is why the west and so-called non-muslims are way ahead of the muslims in many,many ways...
To me ALL religions should be about practical and probable reality,and upholding HUMAN RIGHTS as much as possible...The book/religion is all things to all peoples....It can be used to implement human rights or to deny them...At the end of the day i have not met ONE SINGLE person in my life who did not want to be HAPPY....And that to me,is the goal of life....However,happiness must be balanced with the happiness of others by not infringing on the rights of others in our pursuit of this goal. These individual goals may be subjective to a large degree,however there are some universal common factors,such as desire for food,safety,human warmth etc,etc...To me the west has implemeted some of these principles successfully,however there is still work to be done with regard to more equal distribution of wealth,prevention/rehabilitation of crime,foreign policy and political/legal/millitary improvements for positive world stability...
The islam as i currently know it,is way,way behind in all these fields,and i have yet to read or see articles/opinions from mainstream scholars that will adress these issues realistically and sustainably....Some of the posters on free-minds do address these issues,and i hope they will continue their good work,....with a proviso....Dont try to re-invent the wheel.....

I think that Islam is working but we won't let it. I mean, at least those people in the Mid-East who claim that they are believers and yet they break most of the rules from the Qur'an.
I think we really should first clean our own doorstep, we must each show what true muslim is, how to truely follow Qur'an alone, why hhadith and sunna are not necessary. It's not enough if we just start a forum and say, well, we should do this, that, we should act like this, answer like that, not do this, that and whatever.
Let's actually do that. On the other forum, i just suggested that we should start a charity and the forum got closed but after i got banned.
Islam works, eveyone can follow Qur'an in their life. I mean, if we take that there are 3 prayers a day, then you can combine the prayers with your work except in the construction business because that is still the only job that needs to be split. I'll explain later.

I think it's not very accurate to throw all the problems of the middle east on their "lack" of deen. I think it's alot more complicated than that. I also believe that alot of the issues middle eastern countries are facing today is a direct result of imperialism in the form of colonialism and later in the form of capitalism. This can also be seen in the entire continent of Africa.That would mean that the west really isn't as perfect as you'd like to believe it to be. In fact, the west was and still is the home to incredible and heinous crimes against humanity.
Is there oppression in middle eastern regimes? Yes but please name one western country today that is not opressive to its own people or to others? I think the only place the middle east is so far behind in is in inovation. Enquirer touched upon this issue and I definitely agree with that. There needs to be a renovation of the educational system in the middle east in order to encourage active thinking which would increase contributions to society and the rest of humanity. There needs to be more transparency but in my opinion, these regimes are only puppets and act in the best interests of the western powers that be. Therefore the issue is not so much transparency, but rather taking back the government for their own people, instead of playing nice doggie to western influence.
The point is that the west really isn't as far ahead as it appears to be in the issues of taking care of the human race. Scratch a little under the surface, and you'll find much more horrid issues plagueing the west today. Of course, this is not to say that middle eastern countries don't have their share of problems. Of course they do. i just don't agree that it is fair to label the middle east as wrong and the west as right. As far as the issue of God-fearing is concerned, if we are looking at governments strictly and not individual people, I can't even name one government that really is God-fearing in this world ...
