    Salam All,

I was reading brother layth's article on Night of Decree, and observed a difference of opinion in his atricle vs. many people's opinion on the timing of when we fast for Ramadan, especially brother Syed Akbar Ali. From what I understand from Brother Layth, is that he ascertained that the month of Ramadan is always in December, during the Winter Solistice. While Brother Ali, believes the month of Ramadan is wherever you are in the world, when it is most hottest in the year. My question is what do you think? And why?

Hmmmm...i posted this topic, and yet its not reflected as new?? And no one has responded to it, i wonder why? Not even Layth...

Can someone take the time to read this, and explain to me your opinion, preferably Layth; when you have time.

      Thanks!

        Peace,

I saw no question adressed to me in your initial post, hence no responce from my side.

My opinion stands on December 21/22 being the Night of Decree and hence the month of fasting being the lunar month that makes a part of that night.

          Selam

I read this and wanted peoples opinion.

973 The Night of Decree is better than one thousand months.

          Could this actually mean

          Peace

            You could have something there

22.47 Yet they ask thee to hasten on the Punishment! But Allah will not fail in His Promise. Verily a Day in the sight of thy Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning.

laylat el kadr has nothing to do with ramadan ,two seperate issues."anzalnahu fi laylat el kadr",nothing is mentioned that reveals that it was the quran that was sent during that day.it says though that the angels and spirit was sent on that day.
              salam
