Suggested Reading List for True Islam?
-
Salam Upon You all,
I am hoping that this topic will help some of us who are a little behind in our knowledge of True Islam or God Alone Islam. I have read many of the discussions here and there are some very intelligent people and discussions, however, since I only converted to Islam just over one year ago I am frantically reading and searching to find the answers to arguments I may encounter by traditional Muslims or non believers.
I know that I have found the straight path and that the Quran is Gods guidance for all mankind, but now I would like to read other works that will help me learn and grow in my faith and knowledge of True Islam.
So, I guess what Im asking for me and for others that may need it is for people to please post some suggested readings, some favorite authors, websites, articles, etc. Anything that you think may be a good source of knowledge of God Alone, Quran Alone, True Islam. I have searched and scoured my local library and book stores and there is nothing,,and everything I do find is teaching traditional Islam and referencing Hadeeth etc.
So please my fellow True Muslims, please let me know what you found during your searches that helped you increase your faith and knowledge of God and his message.
Thank you all in advance,
Kurt

Peace brother Kurt,
Some brothers have posted links to some good websites above but a word of caution one should not accept anything as truth unless one has critically examined it in the light of qur'aan, logic and reason and has done one's own personal research. Some of the articles/lectures in some of the above mentioned websites still have excess baggage from the sectarian notion of islam even though the websites claim to have based the information on the qur'aan only. That has resulted from mistranslation or corrupted interpetation of some key verses in the qur'aan. So one should be very careful and not take EVERYTHING from a certain website as the truth unless one has verified it for oneself. The best way to verify is to try to learn the Arabic language itself, especially the classical Arabic language used in the qur'aan, along with considering the context of verses in the qur'aan and cross referencing with verses on similar topics and finding out how the qur'aan itself defines a word used in it by finding out all the occurrences of that word and its context.
Following are some of the websites and tools and articles I have found useful in the search for the truth (the same critical examination and personal research applies to all these websites too)

Salam,
I would also like to take this opportunity to mention an important point, that not everything sectarian is wrong,we still have to verify as traces of the truth will and can surely be found,we should not be prejudiced that everything associated with sunni or shiite is totally wrong, elements of truth can surely be found.
Peace

Peace to all,
Thanks alot Tanveer, that is the type of help i was looking for, these are some good links. I of course will use my own mind and reasoning along with Gods guidance, God willing, to try to learn what is good in them. I never accept AS true anything until i have researched it and learned it for myself, in fact, this is exactly how i discovered Islam. This merely helps me get some good material together in one spot and saves me a lot of wasted time.
I also agree with you matinhbagat, i would never just reject all that others have learned and taught, i agree that some of it can be helpful for us as we all try to reach the truth. Some things are useful even if only as a bad example.
