I revert 1990 and I did also wear a scarves even if I disliked it (.
I did also argue alot with my husband and it finally led to divorce.
I also have 5 kids D

it still gives me a warm glow inside when i read people come to islam (compliance/surrender) after reading 'al quran' ('the reading'.
It is also interesting when people (especially newcomers to islam, not those brought up in a Muslim family) have an instinctive/natural negative reaction to the traditional/cultural baggage (i.e. ahadith)... this reminds me that the inner compass of human beings is still hardwired.

I too have a negative reaction to the hadiths. When Muslims refuse to explain how they can pick and choose the hadiths they wish to incorporate into their beliefs, damn Muslims which follow different hadiths to hell, and at the same time refuse to recognize that there are "sects/denominations" within Islam, I become suspicious and scared.

to wear scarf is not so much difficult , as u r projecting . my mother takes ( chador) a long piece to cover the hair and wrap around the body.
but my sis wear hijab ( that covers the face) sometime they says that they feel difficulty specially in the summer .......... but never says it like a big issue........... because it is to wear when u go outside ur home ..........
and my sister think that they get more respect and people show sobre behav with them than those who dont observe pardah.
the purpose of my msg is that to wear scarf is not so cumbersome as u r saying.
it seems the matter of person like and dislike.

Sounds like you're a man. If this is true, then...
I challenge you to wear a scarf "properly" for only one week. Not a bandana, a proper "hijab" (as people would define it). Preferably in the heat of summer, being sure to do activities outside, etc. Not to forget to let the other members of the household and general community nag you about wearing it, how you're wearing, when you're wearing it, and to wear it "just in case" someone might see, etc. Perhpaps then we'll be on a more even footing to discuss the matter. Till then..........

Respectfully.I agreew ith you, wearing hijab is difficult, i have no idea how women in the Middle East can stand all the heat.
