is fasting in "5 pillar ramadhan" shirk?

Ayman's conclusion is really scientific and logical, as it refers to natural timing, and not man-made months. Only i need a lot more research before i can give my opinion. So till that time i fast the sunni ramadhan. For me that is not shirk, but following 1736. I want certainty before i accept anything. But if you believe Ayman's or Layth's interpretation is correct, and you fast only the sunni month, then yeah, you're neglecting the truth which is wrong. But if you also fast the sunni month next to the other fast period because of your surroundings, till you're in a position to follow your own ways, i don't see it as a crime. Like you still live at your parents, i can imagine to avoid confrontation it is better to fast with them, till you stand on your own feet.

haha shirk? no not unless fasting is more important than God.. There's nothing wrong w/ it, if you believe its from God. Now if you got the law(s) from someone other than God it would be shirk. Other than that i see nothing wrong in over-fasting. Better more than less right? We are all trying to gain extra points on our final report cards....

Are you asking if fasting for 30 days is shirk? Please clarify.
i wanted to say if "5 pillars is neglected by the quran?" then wouldn't following the shariah calender be also be following another system other than god, which is shirk.
at school, in a history book, i found verses of the quran, the 2nd surah verses concerning fasting and charity and salat... after a student would read this selection of verses from the quran, the book questions the student "how does the quran SUPPORT the 5 pillars of islam?"... before i followed quran alone, i would have added the hadith and say "it is the explanation of the quran" but now, i know that the quran needs no explanations from OTHER SOURCES OTHER THAN ITSELF! i have read other articles including the ones on this site which prove that shariah 5 pillars is not according to the quran, zenje, that is why i raised the question in the first place! hope i answered it!

Those who listen to the Word, and follow the best in it those are the ones whom Allah has guided, and those are the ones endued with understanding.As only those are the guided by God - i think.
So following a mullah, a friend, anybody or anything according to the quran itself is following other then God unless one weighs and considers and follows the best therien.
If we can prove a certain nutrient from say urine is good for you then its well and good but just to drink it because some one else says that its good for you is not on i think.
Same goes for trad ramadhan prove its good for us then we will weigh and consider and may be follow.

????thus we recompensed them for their acting unjustly.When people act unjustly or see injustice/ pain/ suffering/ loss happening they get inspirations from God and the inspirations for the betterment are from God.
We don?t need or get inspiration if we don?t need it or aren?t in any sort of trouble/ problem e.t.c
It doesn?t matter what day it is or month it is or year it is but what does matter is are we in need of it/ help/ direction/ guidance and we are in need of it most of the time so its right to say we are inspired most of the time, whether we act upon the inspirations or stick to our forms of idolatry is up to us ? I think so.

Did any of the previouse prophets in the quran recieve their messages in any special month -
or did they all that is "ALL" recieve their messages in dire times or something like this?
