We have been told that we are to dedicate our lives to the LORD, our hearts, soul and minds. In other words we are to live our lives according to gods will not our own.

    what does this mean?

    peace

This means that if we truely want to live for our God, then we must do the following. Submit our will to God, dedicate our time to share the truth to those that do not have it. Put our complete trust in him. We must follow him in all the truth we know and never give false truth. Basically what I am saying is that you know when you would rather watch your favorite, go to the bar, play cards, go on vacation, or any of the things that are not of God we must put these things aside and follow his will. Spread and share the truth, go to church if there is one available, read the Bible/Coran and other religious books. In the Bible God says that he should be the first thing we give attention to when we wake up and the last thing we give our attention to before bed. In other words God should in all aspects of our live, lead and direct our ever action, thoughts and words and without this we are more likely to do our own will and when we do this satin has the opportunity to temp us to sin. And when God is in our lives completly we are less likely to sin because then God is the ruler of our lives, not our selves or satin. I hope this helps if not let me know and I will do all I can to help.

      Sincerely, Larry/Abuja

        Larry/Abuja,

I think i might understand the essence of what you mean here. At the same time, I believe no matter where you are you take yourself with you. Meaning, whether you are at a bar, playing a innocent game of cards with others, or on vacation what is wrong with it if you are still following your faith?

        Please consider the following

Surah31(The Wise)20. Do ye not see that Allah has subjected to your (use) all things in the heavens and on earth, and has made His bounties flow to you in exceeding measure, (both) seen and unseen? Yet there are among men those who dispute about Allah, without knowledge and without guidance, and without a Book to enlighten them!

        peace

So in other words you want me to uphold God alone, and be good. Am I correct?

Thank you Larry/Abuja for making your statement more clear. As I said, I thought I understood the essence of what you meant.

I wanted to touch on this subject between you and Magi.

              To Magi,
I would have to completely disagree with you on saying it?s a simple way. First if it were simple everyone would make it.

Not necessarily so. It appears to me those who do not submit themselves to God are in fact choosing a more difficult way of life. An example of this would be in nature around us. A tree does not struggle to grow where as humans do.

              Quran2441-47

Isn't the most simple aspects of our lives here in this dunya that only appear to be most difficult due to our own selfishness. Meaning, if you are in the position to make a choice between greed and charity which is most simple to choose? Isn't it much easier to give instead of taking? It is much more simple to give.

              Please consider the following

Surah 54. The Moon22. But We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember then is there any that will receive admonition?

              peace

                To M_Mehdi,

You are right we are sometimes the ones that make this truth harder. But there are some truths that are not seen clearly or that can be understood without research and proving its truth these are the things are am speaking of. For example I have made a post concerning Christmas and the real truth about how it is man made and that God is not behind it. After making that post I received a message from someone that believed it to be true because it was what they had been told there whole lives. After I gave the person references and scripture to support what I was saying they then saw how Christmas was man made and wrong. These are the truths that I am talking about. Not the ones that are easy to find, read and understand. If this gives you more insight as to exactly what I am talking about.

                Sincerely, Larry/Abuja sun

                  Larry/Abuja,
With all due respect, the example you gave appears to be circular logic which shows more the folly of man rather than the simple Truth of God (which I thought we were talking about). Man himself has created Christmas and therefore man has fallen into a difficult position of, in your words, "proving its truth." This says little of the Truth but more of the folly of man. I do agree with you on the straying from the path because of conditioning, as you said, " because it was what they had been told there whole lives."

These are the truths that I am talking about.

Taking into account the example you gave above, you are not talking about Truths, but rather about man made falsehoods. In short you appear to be talking more about falsehoods of mankind rathan the simple Truth of God.

Since I believe it is unlikey that Muslims actually celebrate Christmas as a God given holiday, can you please give a more fitting example? Of how you "completely disagree" with the Simple Path?

                  Please consider the following

Surah2(The Cow)146. The people of the Book know this as they know their own sons; but some of them conceal the truth which they themselves know. - probably good to check 145-148 .

                  peace be on you Larry.
ps. Thank you for such a enjoyable conversation. sun

God is only Him, He has His way of life, only His. No one's can compete to His. It's called as tawheed.

                      To M_Mehdi,

You are right I may not have selected the best example concerning your religion. I am more used to sharing with other Christians. I was more or less trying to show how the truth we (christians) are told is truth is false. And that if we dont learn the truth ourselves then we will be lost refering to Christians. And you are right man has made the truth harder, and from my oint of view by adding things they want to believe and not the truth. I am not very famalier with the coran but the verses you have showed me are true. Again thanks for the input.

                      Sincerely, Larry/Abuja

Both Muslim and non-Muslim scholars often translate Allh directly into English as 'God'; and Arabic-speaking Jews and Christians refer to God as Allh.

Your words are humbling. It reminds of that Allah(God) tells us and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians" because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant. I don't believe I actually answered your question of this thread. Please excuse me. I believe there is One Truth and after all is said and done in this temporary existance of ours on in this material world, there is ultimately One Path to this Truth. This path being our inevitable journey back to The Creator.

Thank you once again for such the enjoyable conversation and thread. Peace and Unity brother man.

Surah2148. To each is a goal to which Allah turns him; then strive together (as in a race) Towards all that is good. Wheresoever ye are, Allah will bring you Together. For Allah Hath power over all things.
