Respected. Just wanted to add that to the equation because messengers were sent to all people. We get caught up a lot focusing on certain religions while disgregarding a whole other section of humanity.
Thats all I had to add as my understandig of "salaat" are different. Please continue.

Interestingly, this prayer prays for Ibrahim and his descendants... which, if we consider it carefully, would include some Arabs and all Jews! Ismail is the forefather of Arabs, and Ishaq is the forefather of the Israelites, so non-Semite Muslims are in fact praying for Arabs and Jews when they do tahiyat.
Just a thought.

Can anyone be kind enough to give me information on Jewish and Christian daily prayers.
Are their prayers from the Bible or from other sources, also are there major differences among sects with regard to prayer.
What are the similarities of their prayers to Salat.
The Bible does not give Christians specific prayers to pray, specific times to pray, specific positions of prayer, nor specific places to pray. On the contrary, we are simply instructed to pray without ceasing, to pray in faith believing, to pray with thanksgiving, and to pray in Jesus' name.
Some denominations/sects have manmade prayers that they pray at manmade times. Some Christians take what is commonly referred to as "The Lord's Prayer" or "The Our Father" and pray its words whenever they deem appropriate but this was simply an example used by Jesus when the disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray. He said, "Pray LIKE this....Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name....etc.".
I don't know anything about salat but given what i know about Biblical prayer there may not be much similarity if salat means specific words, subjects, positions, times, places...

Allah never put priority to any nation, when He says Bani Israil of Arab because at THAT TIME they uphold Islam as a deen to mankind. When Indonesian - our people- establishing a deen percisely as Muhammad did, I do believe Allah will call us Bani Indonesia....
Alah is Robbul 'Alamin (who controls universe), has never been retired to punish musyrekeen, they are give a certain time to rule the earth now but Allah will not let it on...

hehe, of course not. In fact Indonesians are a heterogenous group. At least there are two 'races' in the category 'Indonesian'. What defines Indonesians is just our political boundary. Some of us Indonesians might be more closely related to Malaysians or Filipinos or Native Australians!
